Feature Preview ~ Snapzilla Stream

by Cristiano 2. August 2010 04:17

Coming soon – a stream that shows you the latest activity on Snapzilla. It's a work in progress at the moment, but will be integrated soon into the site. You will be able to filter the stream to view your friends' activity only, and to see activity related to your images. You can also zoom into an image without leaving the stream page.

Sorry for the late update on this, but the premium editing features in the Picnik image editor (which Snapzilla uses) are available today for free for one day, ending tomorrow morning at 9 am. If you would like to try out what the premium features are like, this is a good time to do so. Details are available here:

Coming Soon ~ Enhanced Flickr Support

Snapzilla has had support for sending images to Flickr for several years, using Flickr's email functionality. However, one limitation of this method is that it does not allow any formatting in the description, so no HTML can be included.

Several users have requested the ability to add a SLURL link to the end of their description on Flickr. To enable this functionality, along with the ability to pass formatting from Snapzilla to Flickr, I have begun implementing the more advanced Flickr API. This will also allow future enhancements like the ability to add your images to Flickr pools and also import images from Flickr.

Update:

I figured out how to add the SLURL link to Flickr images without using HTML, so SLURL links will now be included for non-private location images. I will still be adding more advanced Flickr integration as an option, along with the current simple email support.
