It goes without saying that without my mom I wouldn’t be here. But this has proved true more than once in my life. She gave me life in Nova Albion almost fifty years ago in the Brownstone West. When I was about four she carried me through the portal when we made our escape from the Great Erase. And she inspired me to search for our home world ever since I was a little kid, telling me stories of Urtahra and the forest that my great grandfather helped to preserve. I will ever be thankful for the courage and inspiration she displays, even to this day. If you ever see Valdora Grayson at Cafe Jack in Grignano, Nova Albion, please stop in and say "hello." She loves a good chat.

It was seven years ago today when I pressed that button and made my first crossover from the Puget Sound region to that of Ahern. The transition was not instantaneous and had started with a tingling feeling from deep within that then radiated out toward the ends of my fingers and toes. I remember dizziness and feeling strange as a darkness enveloped me though I was still conscious. A few seconds passed and then the blackness faded to daylight as I felt my senses return. I was suddenly aware of wet grass beneath my feet. It seems both like yesterday and a hundred years ago. My family followed a few months later. Much has happened to this world and the Forest of Kahruvel has expanded and contracted with the times. The other officers of the Trust and I wish you all the best of luck with all your second lives and dreams as we focus our gaze on the next one hundred years.
