This was my first grid-wide hunt after spending 6 years in Second Life. I really enjoyed it, despite unrelated issues with my computer, missing hints, Adult sim locations, & BDSM locations & items.
Photo-blogging the hunt required exploring each location to find a good photo & finding out about the shop to add a line or two about it.
A few suggestions/complaints:
1) There wasn’t enough time to walk around each location & explore the shops more. Some of the locations had breathtaking environments.
2) At some of the locations it felt as if the merchant was deliberately being obscure and tricky. Locations were huge or cluttered, making it very difficult. If there had been more time on the hunt, perhaps that wouldn’t have been an issue.
3) It would have been nice if each hunt item included a picture of the item.
Some of my favorites:The blouse from Kinky Kajira with the skirt from BacidaluciaRowenWood's Fortune Teller's Tent & Prism's Fortune Teller SetRVi's Rustic Gypsy Wagon & the packaging from Mystique & Ionic
Thanks so much to hunt organizer Luna Tiros for all her hard work and especially for her help early on.
I love hint #65 from Annikah Ember, creator of Passionette, sensual clothing.
HINT: “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”
One of the most interesting names was location #66 but as I could not locate the shop from the landing point, it was on to #67.
Although I'm pretty sure I found the location, I could not locate the hunt object. As it was all shapes and I like mine, I continued the hunt.
At location #68, the hunt posters were not really visible from the landing point. The hint from the website was a bit vague and I'm pretty sure there was sexual content in public areas that violated the Community Standards.
Stop # 64 is Mystique Medieval Fantasy Designs by Claira Jules, a lovely small shop with interesting landscape items
HINT: Where I rest smells so nice the petal tips look like ice
Location #61 is Maha’s Needful Things by Maharet Wrigglesworth. The LM lands you in the Animal area. Slow rezzing again. Hint is in hovertext.
HINT: Without light we all are blind, look into the light, the gift you will find!
The facial hair at Story of O2 didn't interest me, so I skipped stop #62. Stop #63 was a skip so I moved on to location #64.
Hunt location #58 returns us to a modern location at Renee India Fashions of Renee India, who else.
It is a slow rezzing location for me.
HINT: A very Limited hint.
Incendia Outdoors by Lucie Scorbal is location #57. A large, spread out area with outdoor buildings and landscaping items.
GTTH Hint Giver: SOme one needs to wash these windows so the sun will shine threw
Location # 56 is Sweet Revolutions by Susan Independent, a medieval and fantasy roleplay supplies shop.
GTTH Hint Giver: Hey Gypsies. Where do we carry all our paraphernalia? Perhaps on a wagon?
Stop # 55 is the Brass in Pocket gallery by Sunset Byrd. I was going to pass it by, but this is some really nice artwork.
I wish I knew if its original by sunset. The profile doesn't say and I couldn't find the store notes. Missing the hint:
HINT: Try your hand at the beauty of Art
Hunt location #54 is Cortes’n'Rossini by Beastia Cortes. A generic assortment of this and that.
Here's the deal: Because I am short of time, I'm gonna skip locations that don't interest me, are laggy, rez slow or have impossible clues.
GTTH Hint Giver: Protected by the Black Guard
Mad Peas, Stop #53, is one of my MOSTEST FAVORITEST PLACES in SL. My alt (not telling the name sillies) is a big player here.
I really wish I'd been able to get this one, but lag and viewer issues made the site just impossible for me. :-(
GTTH Hint Giver: The tools of the trade for every good gypsy can be found here. Tarot, Ouija and a ball of crystal. Check them out and you shall be rewarded.
I saw from the prize previews that stope #59, Kinkie Kajira by Bynx Shamrock, had a nice outfit, so I jumped ahead to here to be sure I didn't miss it.
Its a nice, modest location although located in an Adult sim, with clothing I actually liked.
HINT:In this glass, I see far and wide, I’ll tell you this I’m not hard to find. Be you a clever fox, You’ll find me beside the box.
Stop #52 is blah.BLAH.blah by Lyric Derryth (I do wish merchants wouldn't change their display names.)
There is a HUGE wall of hunt hints behind the landing point.
GTTH Hint Giver: If we saved the money we thieved, we'd be rich.
Location # 51 is Impish by Nix Marabana, who is branching out to less traditional clothing than she is known for and the selection is still small. But its really nice stuff for male, female, whatever, and some petites.
Another location with a missing hint giver.
HINT: Tramp?! Thief?! I’m a PILLAR of the community!
Stop #50 at Black Rose Designs by Vasso Graves. Clothing for absurdly tall avatars with improbable legs.
Object comes in a box and of course you cannot rez at that location. *Sigh* One does tire of hint givers that don't.
HINT: Can you see the light?
Starting the day at stop #49, Caged Fury Designs by Sothar Resident. Collars and silks.
I have to wonder what slavery has to do with Gypsies, one of the most fiercely independent cultures. The image of a woman in chains is as offensive to me as the image of a black man in chains would be to an African -American.
Skipping this location.
Location #46 is Serendipity Designs by Kyra Ishtari, I think. There was no info card but it seems to be a furniture store with mostly modern stuff.
HINT: “tea for two and two for tea”
Stop #46, Ionic by Lakua Arriaga is a cool soundtrack to your home shopping experience with stylish houses, prefabs, furniture, and music stages both indie and deco.
I love the autumnal atmosphere of this location.
HINT: “let yourself be guided by the rhythm of percussion and find what you’re looking for”
Stop #45 is SLAVE DreSSing RooM by Cristine Easterling and another missing hint. More Gor, more BDSM, more degradation, skipping this one.
HINT: “..around the column”
Location #43 is JSF Designs by JS Fargis, long time SL resident and builder. Now offering clothing templates, fabric textures, and accessories.
HINT: I can see that you will find me surrounded by other tools of my mistress’s trade.
Location #43 is Sugar & Cyanide by Jaysee Netizen, a selection of awesome clothing, very modern, and she takes customs orders.
HINT: Do you want to request a song?
