Gosh the influences on that time period by black american artists is just astounding. The music, the dancing.... Now all they needed to do is get Carol Channing into a Dashiki.

Good point, Bri, really. I posted this video just for the laughs but you nailed it; we see in an uncomplicated, B-movie way how much of an impact black culture in America had on Rock and Roll's development, yet that fim trailer had, I think, only one image of a black person. I have said in the past and still maintain the Chuck Berry and Little Richard are the two most influencial artists alive today in Rock and Roll. Their sound between the late 50's and mid-60's had a major influence on every artist doing rock.

When I was on Welfare I used to sell my food stamps and buy crack cocaine, and at the methadone clinic, before they made you stay there to drink your dose, I'd sell that shit, too, and buy real dope. Then, I'd drive my Cadillac El Dorado Coupe down Broadway to times Square and beat on my ho's cause sometimes them bitches be holding out.

It's also a funny B-movie trailer. I love how Joey Dee is sitting with his gilrfriend and he compares the Twist sensation to Beethoven and his music. That movie must be filled with stereotypes, the girlfriend is so stupid and docile while fawning over Joey's remarkable analysis of cultural trends. But because Joey Dee and his Starliters were from New York it was just kind of funny to me, they have the working-class accent of the era, totally pure, sound like my parents did.
