You need to look at the breakdown per day, per month, and the general value of the content of the post. The value will be determined differently by all of us.

No, no. This thread is actually a highly sophisticated ruse. Many contributors think its purpose is to pad one's post count. In fact, it is used as a communiction link by a secret group of SLU members. Operating below the surface and behind the scenes they plot and plan the demise of Cristiano Diaz, aka El Jefe, our leader. Read these messages closely and you will begin to see a pattern within the text. These are coded messages passing back and fourth, to and fro, and round and round, innocently hidden among the chatter of the masses.

Diabolical, isn't it.

the answer is 18%. after that you're assumed to either be a cynic or have leprosy.

when someone steps into a conversation with single unit post count, that person is generally disregarded as a Noob, or worse, as an Alt and the person is ignored. therefore it's good to have a history on the forum and a healthy postcount.

on the other hand, is it possible to have a postcount that is just too high, whereby people ignore your posts due to an assumption that a high post count means verbiosity or inanity? at what point is your post count too high?

Do people look at post counts first, before reading? That seems to be one assumption here - that I look at a person's post count and use it to prejudge whether I should read the post.

I hardly ever even look at post counts. I check forum Av and title, Mood, on/off status, and that's about it. I read or skip a post depending on my time available, for the most part. If I start reading something that seems inane, I move on.

Check my AV title - I really, really am the perpetual noob - I have participated in few forums. What is this facination with post count?

Help a bruddah understand?

To me, post count is completely irrelevant. I pay more attention to quality as opposed to quantity.

I agree, but its easy to assume that the more posts one has the more experienced they are at posting…on the other hand we’re not writing novels here, so what kind of quality should we look for? I think as long at the forums remain entertaining or informative…post pad away. What’s the harm? And you know…me want shinies

I'm no size queen when it comes to post counts either. It's quality rather than quantity.

I don't notice post counts, but I look out for particular posters, 'cause I know which ones will be interesting, funny, thought-provoking, or just plain silly (I'm always partial to silly...)

Post count means nothing to me in terms of general credibility on topics, I always consider the content.

Where a post count is high I will regard the person as more or less knowing some of the ins-and-outs of the different personalities of the forum. But content credibility will have to be in the post itself.

I don't regard high post count as inanity, however a high post count will likely mean that I have seen a lot of this person's post and thus may have a formed opinion of this person's posting credibility or style.
