Do you have big boobehs? If so, do you use deodorant or anti-perspirant under neath them? Is it safe to do so?

I have pretty big boobs and I use anti-antiperspirant under them on hot days. I'm pretty sure that it's safe to, since it's close to the armpit and using it there is just fine.

I also use medicated talc when the dreaded heat rash occurs.

I'm also waiting for some of the more curious guys to come in and be heartbroken when they realize that real big boobs don't sit upright and alert like bolted on cantaloupe halves.

No its a serious question. I've had big boobehs all my life and I use talc under there quite a bit. But I found this new bra that hooks in the front and is way comfy but its cotton and spandex which is weird and the sweat and the spandex are not happy making time. So I wondered. I don't know why I never wondered before but I didn't.

Yes and yes Vivianne. I use Suave Invisible Solid.

No more rash, no more funky smell.

Ok putting on serious face.... Yes on both counts. With big tatas, sweat is a huge issue. Been using anti-persperents for over 30 yrs now. No issue ever. The great thing these days is there are much better selections of scents available. My only 'advice' is to use a stick rather than sprays or rollons as there is less of a mess factor. Current fave this early summer is Secret Invisible Solid for their variety of scents and are inexpensive when on sale.

I thought I was the only person who did that.. On a hot day after after a shower I give the girls a quick swipe of deodorant just to me safe. It works better than powder and doesn't feel sticky.

I'm a lady with tig ol' bitties... and this is brand new information to me. It never dawned on me to use an antiperspirant, I just keep the area as dry as possible. And spend lots of time in AC.

Yeah, me either, I've always just used powder but with the hot flashes, this is a good idea.

I'm also addicted to this Dove stick anti-antiperspirant scent "Original Clean". Generally, my attitude toward industrial perfumes is blech but I swear if they made this stuff a cologne I would wear it, lol. So any excuse to use more of it.

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but wasn't there some information years back that anti-perspirants containing aluminium (I think it was aluminium) were thought to increase risk of breast cancer?

If true then please check the ingredients.

Nope, you aren't wrong. I used to use a natural deodorant, made from mineral salts. It was actually very effective so if you don't want to use ordinary stuff, a natural one could work.

Here it is: Crystal Body Deodorant

Dermatologist tested Dove Clinical Protection delivers prescription-strength defense against wetness and contains Dove ¼ moisturizers to care for delicate underarm skin. And unlike leading prescription anti-perspirant/deodorants, it does not contain aluminum chloride or alcohols that can cause skin irritation and discomfort.

This thread doesn't address an issue I have (I am more oo than OO), but I found this from NIH's National Cancer Institute. It isn't very comforting.

Quote:
Antiperspirants/Deodorants and Breast Cancer

...
However, researchers at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), a part of the National Institutes of Health, are not aware of any conclusive evidence linking the use of underarm antiperspirants or deodorants and the subsequent development of breast cancer. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates food, cosmetics, medicines, and medical devices, also does not have any evidence or research data that ingredients in underarm antiperspirants or deodorants cause cancer.
...

More research is needed to specifically examine whether the use of deodorants or antiperspirants can cause the buildup of parabens and aluminum-based compounds in breast tissue. Additional research is also necessary to determine whether these chemicals can either alter the DNA in some cells or cause other breast cell changes that may lead to the development of breast cancer.
...
Because studies of antiperspirants and deodorants and breast cancer have provided conflicting results, additional research is needed to investigate this relationship and other factors that may be involved.
...

If you're concerned about aluminium as a risk factor for breast cancer, you should seriously consider not using deodorants that contain it at all. Your breasts connect up to your lymphatic system, so using deodorant in your armpits, right over the lymph glands, probably isn't a great idea.*

* - assuming of course there is a causal link.

Have any of you tried Bloc Osma? Its like the Crystal deodorant sticks in that its Alum base. I bought a block because I heard it was a good post-shave usage but never liked it much. My wife found that it works great for the underboob sweat issues.
