I'm sure I've pissed people off but so be it. There is nothing "secret" on the interwebs and I'm tired of the Duchy getting this rep as a den of hate or something.

I don't know why Joshua gets people so riled but the evidence is he *does*. And it's not just those evol people at the Duchy yada yada.

There was one pleasant side effect, for me personally, of the GREAT SECOND CITIZEN CIVIL WAR OF 2007. Most of the people that hated me at SC or that I couldn't stand for one reason or another won't come near SLU.

Granted I would be welcoming to them if they did post here, but I can't say I miss them. I'm sure the feeling is quite mutual.

But I'm still surprise by this response. Why? Because I specifically asked you for an example of a "personal attack". Doesn't "Jive" seem, well, rather insipid as personal attacks go? Put another way, if you chose to rate "Jive" as a "personal attack", what language does that leave you with to describe your calling three women "c*nts" (one a "hideous c*nt") in the dieing days of SC? What language do you use to describe you using someone's RL physical disabilities as a point scoring device in a flame war? Its difficult for me to see how one could be so insensitive to make such utterances, yet still sensitive enough to regard "Jive" as an "attack".


There was a period around the time of the demise of SC where you were discussed quite a bit, and you're right, it wasn't positive. And as Io has noted, once the SC stuff was worked through, you pretty much fell off the DoD radar. For anyone else who doubts this, I offer you the Vinsonian challenge - sign up and read for yourself.

There was never a hive mind at DoD, anymore than there is here. I argued against the "Jive" mapping, partly out of principle, partly because I guessed it would be used as a weapon against DoD, as it has been. All my posts went through, I stayed friends with everyone there, most definitely including the mods. Similarly, when I made the spectacularly stupid decision of attempting to debate Mulch concerning the events surrounding the demise of SC, and this in turn lead to defending Cris, no-one joined the Mulch crusade, no-one berated me in any way, the mods did nothing to stop me or insult me, and provided no support to Mulch.

As for how Aimee was regarded at DoD, I went back to the DoD thread where she first made her appearance, and found the following:

And so it went. Looks like a pretty friendly welcome to me, and Lucifer and Aimee seemed to have quite a time flirting away merrily (stuff about spanking followed).

All I remember about Flip was Mulch making a stupid comment about leather pants or some such nonsense, and getting beaten up for it.

The discussion I remember about Mother was more regretful than anything else - regretful that things turned out the way they did. I do specifically remember Lucifer saying how much he missed Mother at one point.

Unlike you Joshua, I post and read at DoD almost every day. I know how I've been treated when discussing certain topics, and I've provided you with evidence as to how Aimee was treated. I'm going to treat any further comments from you on this topic as baseless, unless you make a similar effort.

Well, at least we can agree on one thing then.

Some of you may not know this, but Joshua and I argue alot.

Do I dislike you Joshua? At times. I've used the word hate to describe it. Though I do not stay angry at people to long always try to make an effort to not hold grudges.

I am opinionated. You are opinionated. You stand up for your principals and beliefs, I do the same. You have issues that you take to heart, as do I.

This is why we clash. I honestly do not think Joshua is a hateful person in any way. Fact is a good 30-40% of the time I actually agree with Joshua. It seems on political issues we do, but on social issues we do not. Kind of odd since most of the time those go hand in hand. So while Joshua and I disagree and often get into heated debates. I do not hold anything personal for too long.

Joshua and I also can get along great at times. We will go through short stretches where I think we make each other laugh and really see eye to eye. Then one comment from one of us makes the whole house of cards collapse and we are debating again.

I think both of us have got better at not personally insulting each other. We really have just stuck to debating issues lately.

Cris, I wasn't gonna return to this thread, but out of respect to you, I'll respond on this one.

As Io has so eloquently stated... the end of SC was a fractious time. The majority of users went to DoD to get away from Josh. I certainly wasn't going to allow the thing that friends of mine wanted to get away from onto my board.
As to Josh ability to respond? Personally I don't see the difference between a forum one can't access, and an IM, group conference or whatever.
For the record, I constantly tried to discourage talk about Josh, as frankly I wanted a Josh Free Zone in every respect.

I'm complaining about YOU enabling it above and beyond the point where you can put your hands in the air and say "I'm not responsible for what people post."

No one else configured the subforum. No one else configured the auto-format to insult me. That was you, and you alone.

Oh and it only ever got locked behind registration once I pointed out publicly what you were doing. Prior to that it was not.

This is a gross misrepresentation. I never put you on ignore, you did. I said you were being his puppet for coming and posting things that Mulch had put on Darkmere and asked to be reposted in a place where he couldn't write. The same behavior that almost had Imaya banned on SC as well.

I could care fuck all about what you wanted to agree or disagree with.

And again, staying out of it is not configuring forum software to insult one person, and one person, alone.

Just as I had only signed up on SS when someone was posting things that put Cris and I in legal jeopardy. I have not tried to sign up on any other forum, maintain no desire to, and I likely will not ever do so in the future.

Am I the moderator of a forum? No? Then my behavior has little relevance compared to the behavior of someone who owns a site. If Cris ever made a "Prokofy Free Zone" and reworded her name to an insult, which you cannot determine how or why it is insulting and I resent the attempt, I would be pissed off at him too.

I think we can all agree that the moderators and site owners need to be held to a different standard than the posters if anyone is going to feel comfortable posting there. And while my normal stance of "don't like it, don't pay for it, don't post there" (which is less of an issue on a free forum site anyway) stands true, I have exercised exactly that. But that doesn't mean I've lost the right to complain about it.

I remember this very clearly because it was absurdly biased against any but your own version of the whole thing. And I bring it up because that is what it was like back then. People were drawing lines in the sand and you were with or against. I said repeatedly that I accepted no bullshit from *either side*.

You are embellishing the story now, I was there, I was on that forum with others and no one was being attscked for defending FIC. We argued about it but I was not "talked about heinously" by the mods or anyone else.

SC was in complete disarray and you were smack in the middle of it, all guns firing. As Cale said, you were hardly the image of gentlemanly behavior at the time so calling you "Jive" while juvenile was nothing compared to what you were saying to people in public.

It's over now. Stop dragging it up. People still drag your drama all over the other forums or try to. People at the Duchy actually don't want to talk about you.

Okay, I don't remember telling you I was putting you on ignore but it's a moot point. I remember you pressing and pushing FIC on things that I saw Mulch posting about asking people to press and push on FIC for. And I was pissed off about all of it so I told you I thought it was lousy.

I do remember you storming off in an IM though, and I remember you canceling our date.

And again, I am not trying to drag anything up. Do you notice up at the beginning where I specifically didn't mention any names, until Cale essentially told me I was lying? I don't know what is talked about on Darkmere now, because I had asked to stop being told about it months ago. I know that FIC was insulted, I know that I was insulted, I know that it was open season on Flip and Cris, and I know that many of the people who participated in it and enabled it, like Lucifer, are posting here without any sort of apology for the nasty things they said.

At least I had already offered one for that time period.

And I do know that shit is being spread to other forums, which comes back to my ultimate point that the other sites don't want it, so if you're going to leave SLU to avoid me, you might as well avoid bringing me up in a place I have never intended to follow anyone anyway.

Josh, there are people who can't stand you and they will never apologize for it. There are others who feel the need to drag that to other forums and I disagree with that as well. I've never said anything to others that I haven't said "to your face".

But please.... let this go. I've never come out and defended the Duchy before but this is really history now. You and Luc will never get along. Luc really doesn't have any issues with Cris that I can see. Or FIC. Not any standing issues that they are demanding apologies for.
