My Mood:  SL Join Date: 3/9/2006  | You see, there is a network of things called "Routers" of various sizes and power. they are all interconnected through copper wires and strands of glass called Fiber Optics. Messages from a computer are sent to these routers and given header information to tell the routers where to send the information. They are also broken up into bite sized packets. The router sends out a signal that says "i need to get to XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX router, and the routers all talk to each other in a chain until they find the correct destination, then a path is set up between the start and end locations and the packets are all sent out through the path at the "speed of light" to the other end, where they are reassembled. Into cat photos.
