I know that nearly every single (especially trendy) forum houses jerks...but like I said, I don't know shit about shit.

Well I guess that is an option if you view things negatively.

I think the post should be addressed more constructively.

I sometimes like reading what she has to say, even though I do not agree. She makes some interesting and sometimes on point remarks.

I mean, people are going to post messages, but like anything, you can please some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.

Often times I say things that are disagreed with and I have been verbally assaulted and insulted over what I have said. But I am not leaving SLU over it. And I am definitely not going to go vent on some other forum about it.

So, let's not drag her through the mud. Let us send her some private IM's and ask her to come back.

Posting this message is away to let people know what is happening and giving them the option to act on it.

Also, that is a very negative view of SLU. I have never seen anyone dragged through the mud for here for posting that they are leaving.

You obviously were not at :sc: or if you were you choose to ignore the amount of mud dragging that occurred there without moderation. But I guess crucifixion is ok *if* you like the forum.

And that's not drama -- thats one person who was there before here posting that she's gonna stop pariticpating on all boards and the rest of us asking her to come back. But don't let that stop you from misrepresenting the truth or trying to start drama here.

In my post I specifically said let us send her some Private Messages and ask her to come back.

All you see is the negative...angrily at that.

I've already sent her a private message apologizing for my part, if I had any at all, in her leaving.

I do not like to post hateful, angry messages, screaming out expletives and insults, because THAT is what I call drama.

No forum is completely dramaless. Because the majority of us hold strong opinions and views, we clash and argue. Sometimes. I dont find SLU to be a "drama pit" and although i am registered with several SL related boards, I was overall accepted and welcomed most warmly at SLU. I understand some peoples need to bash other forums that they disagree with but dont completely judge a forum by only a few members. We have our trolls and our nay-sayers. But as a group, we are intelligent and respectful.

I dont post anywhere else because i dont know anyone on other forum, save two people and the ones currently on SLU. And what is said on SLU is generally said on other forums as well.

I am sorry your SLU experience wasnt as pleasant as one would want, but the vets of SLU have stuck around despite personal attacks from misunderstandings. They do so because they overall enjoy the people active in the forum. And from this thread I can see you have many friends from SLU and SS.

Hope you stick around. It's a bumpy ride!

I just think that broadcasting someone's elseforum post can't end well.

It's hard to read that post and think she hates SLU. She just thinks that some people on SLU are Douchey McDouchersons and feels harassed by them in some nature. There is a lot of people who'll continue to dog a poster with nothing more than 'nuh-uh, you're wrong' for pages and pages. It gets tiring to handle it reasonably. I'd probably rather just demure than practice with the sharp knives if I was her too.

i feel two ways about her post, i agree with kristian but i feel its stirring up badness when posting a complaint about another SL forum. Seems we are the current drama forum. What an interesting reputation we gained. I happen to think the other forum are quite boring compared to SLU, not neccessarily dramaless but just not as active.

Well the best advice I can give is that after a rebuttal or two, leave the thread. Leave behind all the emotion and just walkaway. Leaving behind the emotion may be hard if it hits close to home, but walking away is not.

This is after all a message forum. And no amount of arguing is going to convince a close-minded person or a person not open to your view, that you are right.

These things take time.

It took a while for me to agree with Kendra and JenH on some things.
