Since I know how SLUfolk are about lists, I knew everyone would want to see this magnum opus from the LL blogorums:

Wow. Narcissistic drama queen. I'm disappointed I'm not on her list, and was tempted to ask her to add me, seeing as she's not the sort of person who would like to talk to me anyway. But then I decided that any response at all to that thread is just feeding the ego.

My own muting ettiquette is much simpler. I mute anyone who hits me with a Bloodlines bite request, anyone with talking genitals or a pregnancy tummytalker, and anyone who gesturespams at a live music event. Mostly I remove them again after a couple of days, on the grounds that I likely will never meet them again. I never, ever publish a list of who I muted.

I just cleared mine - hadn't done it in too long.

Most of the folks on there were gesturebaters from venues. If I run into 'em again, I'll deal with it then.

This also reminded me of the old profile ratings. I didn't even notice they had gone for months until I went to rate somebody.

I need to really go back on a how to use SL and it's features course.

I think the only people on my mute list are a couple of griefers who showed up to harass the creator of a new avatar at their release party.

Yeah, my mute list only contains a talking uterus (not the avatar, just the uterus) and someone whose gestures annoyed me at a live concert once.

I don't generally find sharing SL with other people to be that much of a burden that I have to go around muting people and leaving them muted indefinitely.

But even if I did, I can't imagine a reason I'd want to broadcast their names and invite them to comment on their being muted. I mean, if I wanted to hear their comments, why would I have muted them in the first place?

Wait, you can mute an object but not the owning avatar? Interesting, since nearly all of the small handful of people I've added to my mute list in 11 months are the owners of objects that spammed/annoyed me.

OTOH, if the avatar deploys objects that are that annoying, I doubt I'd want to hear anything the avatar said either.

Not gonna lie, I've got a mute list ten miles long. It's mostly filled with gesture spammers, blingtards, and baby talkers. However, I don't have the patience to sort through it to unmute people- never mind publishing a List of those who have wronged me. I don't know what this was meant to accomplish.

If you go to View>Mute List, there is a "Mute object by name..." button. You have to type in the object's name exactly, but that's easy to do if you just copy it out of your local chat window.

In this case, the talking uterus belonged to an otherwise sweet lady who sometimes comes to the music events at Madhu's Cafe. I can't mute a visitor when I'm hosting an event.

And nothing she says in chat is particularly annoying - it's really just those talking uteruses she sometimes wears.
