As for the unknown creature in the sewers, couldn't it be some sort of fungus or mold or something? Kind of reminds me of the resident evil games

Might also be a freshwater jellyfish.

The Tentaculat is nearly always spotted in underwater alien dwellings. They are also known to act as watchdogs for some of the larger USOs that have touched down on the sea bed, such as the Dreadnaught.

It's quite simple.

These creatures are in fact republicans in their sexual phase...

See every republican is in fact a normal human, untill one of these creatures inserts a tendril up their nose, and gives birth to one of its young IN THEIR BRAIN where it controls them.

After the death of their host, the fully grown republican oozes out of their skull, and makes its way to the sewers where it feeds on shit, and mates, then they make their way to sleeping humans to repeat the process.
