I don't think it can repeated enough that 99.999% of the males who say that their RL gender shouldn't matter in SL would violently recoil were they expected to jump on a poseball with a male avie. SLesbianism is all fun and games but woah nellie, let's not get teh peen involved!

This is not limited to SL either. I play World of Warcraft on an RP server. Let's just say that Silvermoon (the blood elf home city) is... popular. Let's also say that there's a lot of blood elf women going at each other in public in inns. Let's also say that someone who may or may not be me went into one of those inns to turn in a quest, saw said blood elf "lesbians" going at it loudly and publically, and said in open chat as he walked out "you know you're both guys in RL, right?".

Let's also say that dead silence ensued.

I'm not going to say someone in an avie of the other gender is automatically up to no good, obviously. To me it's all about intent.

I have tried a male alt, and I have to admit I wasn't comfortable. But it was an intriguing learning experience.

I have it in my profile that I'm bi because it was relevant for what I was doing in SL. However, I found that by surrounding myself with both bi women and bi men, the type of selfish straight guy we're talking about here would stay away. Sadly, they are foiled by their own homophobia.

I do think instincts can get you a long way when it comes to feeling out another person that you are involving yourself with in SL. Age is one of my hard fast rules in SL. I have no interest in playing with someone who is either ten years my junior or senior. I am certain that I have been fooled before.
I do think when you are developing a deeper more meaningful relationship, buying land together, opening a business together, that it is very important then, if not before, to disclose RL details.

But I do think it's true that most women's clothing in SL is revealing, slutty, or sensual in some way. Most would be anything over 50%

I was tickled to death when I discovered Maitreya, which I consider to be stylish as well as flattering to the av. I actually own some pumps that resemble theirs.

I used to have a female alt with the sole goal of wearing all the awesome women's clothes for sale in the grid. Because back then men had pretty much a choice between the newbie jeans and shirt. Or the newbie jeans and a Robin Wood's template shirt with a sloppy logo printed on it.

The age comments reminded me of back in 2000-2001 I was in a raid guild in Everquest and the guild leader, who was a great tactician and orginizer and leader, whom everyone thought was mid 20's came on and annouced he was having to step down as guild leader because his parents were concerned that his school work was suffering.... turns out he was only 14. ..... blew everyone away.
