That was a salon I go to when my regular girl is booked, I should have specified. So I imagine she just wanted my business as opposed to what,s best for my hair. And the guy who cut my hair, who was a "senior level" stylist, did it exactly the same as he did the woman next to me, even after I explained I wanted layers and keep my curl. Damn it. It was an assembly line.
And this is all before a visit from the BF, so of course there's hair, waxings, facials, buying more makeup, dieting, anything but the plastic surgery.
And he has hardly any hair left and is cute as a button. And he feels the same way as Trout does.
It is unfair. It's a complete mind job.
And now I have the scene from Brazil in my head where his mother is getting her face plastic wrapped.

I have this dream.

Outside the window of my country home, I hear a rustling.

It's teh Nuge. In my bushes.

I shoot him.

I'm happy.

Then I wake up.

Try googling Ted Nugent instead. It pains me that people don't know who he is, but it's not your fault - I'm just elderly.

You've heard of Alice Cooper, right? AC/DC? Black Sabbath?

Please say yes. Humor an old man in his final years.

This is one of those areas where I'll freely admit there is a huge gender disparity. What you women have to put up with when it comes to dealing with your appearance is mind-boggling and totally unfair. I'm considered decent if I have on a clean shirt and jeans and my socks match. Women suffer. FWIW, I hold my GF to the same standard of appearance as I hold myself. If she wants to throw on whatever clothes she has handy and put on a baseball cap to hide whatever her hair is looking like, then roll out of the house with no make-up, hairy legs and comfortable shoes on, that's cool with me. God knows that's what I do.

EDIT: Since she reads these forums (Hi Oryx!) I should point out that she doesn't do this, even though it would be ok by me. She goes through that whole girl ritual and it invariably looks like a scene from Beauty and the Beast when we go out together. I don't want anyone getting the wrong impression.
nice save!

Oh hell yes I love all those.

OK I looked him up in Wikipedia and it seems to be a geographical issue rather than one of age. He's one of those stars that never really got to be well-known across this side of the Atlantic. None of his records have ever been hits in the UK. But I'm sure if I'd been born and raised in the US I would have ended up a fan.

Ah. I forgot you were in the UK. Well, if you like rock from that era, look up some Nugent stuff. It's very good. Ted Nugent himself, though is a bit of a difficult personality. He's super-ultra right wing. He may actually be too far right for Republicans. He lives on a giant ranch in Texas where he practices his own special brand of conservationism - which seem to involve raising animals so he can shoot them and eat them. He is a serious gun nut. I'm fine with gun ownership - in fact I won several that I've inherited. I'm ok with hunting, too. But Ted. Wow. Just wow.

On the other hand, he's certainly consistent in his views and he's so enthusiastic that he's kind of endearing. He's just a really tough guy to figure out. I think that's because of the insanity.

I'm soo cheap. I just pull my hair back and let it grow out.. then I go to my local Great Clips and donate my hair. When you donate your hair, you get a free hair cut.. Then I tip the gal who cuts my hair the $15 it would have cost. I do this once a year.. my hair grows fast enough that every spring, there is enough to donate usually like 14 inches and I get it cut pretty darn short.

The Nuge.. he's interesting.. I think it's fun to have someone actually.... you know .. STATE their views instead of trying to make everyone else happy and not actually saying anything.. like most politicans

Agreed - I think a lot of people in the media - musicians, actors, etc. use political activism as a form of PR. They are totally ignorant about the causes they support, they just use it as a way to stay in the public eye. Consequently, they choose whatever causes they think are the most hip.

Ted Nugent doesn't do that. He hasn't exactly got the most popular opinions, but he certainly sticks with them, even in the face of severe criticism. I'll give him that.

I'm a 43 year old geezer then. :-p

As crazy as Ted is, he swears that he has never taken any drugs or alcohol. His psychotic enthusiasm is all pure crazed lunacy. hehe

For that you gotta love him

Well, we aren't saying anything is elderly. I'm 38. It makes me feel ancient when people haven't heard of someone that was an icon when I was a kid, but it hadn't occurred to me that Russ was from the UK. I just thought he was too young to remember Ted Nugent.

There are other things that make me feel really old, when I'm really not all that old. My creaky arthritic back, finding candy I ate as a kid sold at a candy store that specialized in "heirloom candy", and younger people totally missing references to the A-Team, The Dukes of Hazzard and Magnum PI.

BTW - on a similar note. David Palmer - the iconic front man for Jethro Tull is now Dee Palmer, having undergone sexual reassignment surgery in his mid 60's after the death of his wife. He wanted a fresh start in life and figured that was a good way to do it.
