Substitution Cypher Cracker's Workbench + trial and error, once I saw words begin to form, I plugged in letter where they looked like they should be until I had something that made sense, well, kinda..

It's kind of like the cryptoquip, I was trying to poke at it at the same time, but got up to make food and do the dishes. It's what I mentioned way way way back on the first or second page, if you solve the double letters and then make reasonable assumptions based on which letters are most commonly found together it's crackable. So n's, o's, e's, etc, can be found together, and Fox must have experimented with which ended up making words and the most sense.

Ehh, somewhere in the back of my head i was hoping for something epic, like,
i don't know.. something that'd surprise me instead of just "now you wait".

I loved the process though, i think SL needs a multi-sim clue based game with some
basic cypher, some searching, and all other kinds of little interesting tricks.

Like... there was a movie about something like that, an urban game about riddles&clues

Heh well I think the "drink more ovaltine" was a nod to A Christmas Story. In the movie he got all excited over his decoder ring, and it turns out the big secret message was "drink more ovaltine".
