Just to prove it: MI Sucks.

I received this email this afternoon, and I find what it says extremely interesting and sad at the same time:

Quote:
Dear Tenshi;

Recently we came across your resume through one of our online services we utilize. Past experience has shown us that candidates with your qualifications and background perform exceedingly well within our company.

We are scheduling interviews for Tuesday, July 1st at Southfield, MI 48076. Please give us a call today from 12:00 to 9:00 pm. at 312----- and ask for Bill for a preliminary phone interview. No calls will be accepted on or after Tuesday. I look forward to speaking with you. (Due to the current job situation in Michigan you may get our voicemail because we are handling other callers. Please leave your name and number and we will return your call.)

DUE to the JOB SITUATION in MICHIGAN. This is the first time I've ever seen a corporate employer in Michigan say something like this. Obviously, it is becoming worse instead of better.

A few, apparently. I saw McDonald's in my town is hiring today. I guess fattening food is still a hit.

Did you miss the part where the state of Wyoming sent job recruiters here to look for people because we have so many here with nothing better to do than chase tumbleweeds, or whatever it is they need people to do in Wyoming?

Thread Title of the Week
Ahem...

I live in Wyoming and we have all the same jobs other states do. The problem is that our salaries and wages are far from competitive, so most of the young people go elsewhere when they finish school.

Sounds like northern New Hampshire.

Which is why I am in Texas, trying to move to Oregon.

Are we all just swapping states in the hopes of finding something worthwhile? Is that the trend here?

Only reasons I'm in Texas now are family, decent tech sector, giant goth/industrial scene, and it's cheap as hell.

lol. Nobody wears that much makeup out here. It'll melt right the fuck off when dancing. But seriously, bunch of really good local bands and DJ's here for that type of music.

The goth scene around here sucks. It's full of attention grabbing whores. You think I'd want to spend more time there, but no. It's hard for me to have competition.

ANYWHO.

We need a Goth Lifestyle thread. Dancien, wanna do the honors?

I think my grouchiness is due to being in Houston. The climate is pretty hard on me. I lived in Austin for a little while in the eighties and liked it a lot more.

Houston is the 2nd Circle of Hell. Also the crime rate is scary.

LOL. I almost got you back for that two faced cat. I found a picture of a cat that had zero skin on it's face but my brain actually fired up for once and said "No Dancien, too much"

True. Although, before I had a car I used the bus to get around and wasn't particularly afraid. BUT it's gotten a lot worse since the Katrina refugees got here. Most of them are good people but unfortunately the bad eggs got here too and they're rattling around loose. I think if I didn't have a car now, I would be scared.

But the weather, it must be from hell! ick!

A good job, if I can get it. I should know in a few days. And Portland, which I have been to before, and it's lovely. It would be a good place for me to finally settle down.
