The first few that were featured and part of the show looked preteen at best to me.

i saw a show about these kind of dolls once (and the blokes who live with them) but i didn't see any of them who looked as young as some of those do...

i imagine that little collection was quite expensive too. Each to their own i suppose.

That's really quite disturbing. I have no sound but it reminds me of something the Chapman Brothers would do.... which is usually quite grotesque.

I think I watched the same show as you. I couldn't stop - watched the whole thing. I wish I had a link... (or maybe not).

They probably have difficulties with all their human relationships, not just the ones with women. They just happen to be attracted to women physically, and wish to be sexually active, so they get dolls. Dolls don't communicate, perfect.

His problems when it comes to communicating, or socializing, can't only be with women. He lives with a dozen (more?) dolls that he interacts with everyday after work, he must not have that many friends.

ETA: I've got to say, it was also very hard for me not to judge when watching the movie.

did you see the guy who had to send his doll away to be repaired? he was really attached to it, on an emotional level, which surprised me more than the sex part.

I'm not sure (can't watch the video here at work) but if you're talking about Real Dolls they go for a cool $5,000 US each, or so. Minimum. I think vibrating features are extra

Maybe it's better for women that he has the dolls...

And also -

Having dolls is one thing. But declaring your love for them on (in)ternational TV? Wow!

Have they made one that can go get you a sandwich after you're done having sex with her?

OK - honestly, this just weirds me out. It's like he has a bunch of dead bodies laying around his house. Plus, how on earth can he maintain any normal relationships with actual people when he's got that going on? I'm trying hard not to judge the guy, but I really think he's got some serious issues and he needs professional help.

Yes, I remember.
I agree, it isn't all about the physical aspect, they develop true feelings toward their dolls. Some of them really believe they are in a relationship. The whole documentary was creepy-weird. Remember the man from Texas (?) who had many, and wanted his new girlfriend to meet them?

I'll try and find the link, it's a must see.

OK, I have a link to a mini article, and the movie is at the bottom.
It's 46 minutes long -to watch at home with popcorn only.

Hey, he TRIED having a real relationship with a real woman. But when he brought the girl home, it went something like this:

"What are those?"
"Oh those are my dolls!"
(shudders slightly) "They look real."
"They do, don't they? Go ahead, touch one."
"N-no, thanks, that's ok." (begins looking for the door)
"This one is Laura. And this one is Becky..."
"Why are they wearing lingerie and schoolgirl outfits?"
"Oh," (stammering slightly, blushing) "That's just their costume."
(Notices suspicious stains on some of the outfits). "Ok, John, well it was nice meeting you but I gotta go. Seeya!" (heads for the door)

"Fine. Leave, bitch. You talk too much anyway." (turns to Laura) "Right, Laura?"

I can actually imagine how creeped out any woman he tried to date would be. Think about his buddies, though.

If I went over to a friend's house to watch a game or hang out and play video games/drink beer/cook meat over open flame/poker/general guy stuff and I had to move his sex dolls over so I had room to sit on the couch, I wouldn't even be able to make fun of him properly. I would just completely freak out. I really don't think I could handle being friends with someone like this. Maybe that makes me a bad person, but that's honestly howI feel about this. It makes my skin crawl.

I almost did. It's an Italian horror flick from the 1970's right? Do they make dolls out of people?
