| This week we saw a net loss of 81 regions with Privates Estates down by 89 and Linden Owned up by 8. Total number of Main Grid regions is now 29051 ( 21926 private estates & 7125 Linden owned) 51 new regions were added and 10 returned to the grid, with 147 regions removed (21 were renamed and 2 came and went since last report) 3 Small estates went offline this week, the 16 Region Brights Estate, the 10 Region Jim's Estate and the 9 Region Torvas estate. Linden Lab added an additional 4 Premium content Gulch regions and returned 4 Burning Man regions to the grid. The number of Adult rated regions fell this week by 18 to 3590 (12.3% of the grid) whilst General Rated stayed unchanged at 4301 (14.8%). Breakdown of current regions by Ownership and Classification:

| Its that time again, so here are the results of the August 2012 Private Estate Survey. based on a sample of 5000 randomly selected private estate regions selected to estimate Full/Homestead/Openspace penetration. The results are as follows:
Of the 4337 accessible regions , 57.1% are Full Regions, 42.2% are Homesteads and 0.7% are Openspaces. The Margins of Error are +/-1.32% , +/- 1.32% and +/-0.22% respectively for the three figures figure at the 95% confidence level. This is a small swing towards Full regions this month up 0.6% share since last months survey and Homesteads correspondingly down oby 0.6% and with Openspaces unchanged. During this period Private estates had a net loss of 334 Regions to a total of 21891 representing a monthly decline of 1.5% , a tiny bit less than last months 1.8% loss. The proportion closed to public access was marginally up by 0.1% on last month at 13.3%. 3 of the Full Regions were Linden Developed Regions (i.e. sold new with content) and a single Linden Developed Homestead were included in the sample this month. Again as with all previous months this is too small penetration to estimate total number. 777 of the 1829 (42.5%) Homestead regions were at the new non-grandfathered rate, this is a significant fall of 1.4% from last months (43.9% ). Taking these figures a good estimate of private estate tier due each month is US$4,570,000 +/- US$53,000 . (Calculated using known grandfathering rates but excludes any academic reductions and is rounded to the closest US$1000), this figure is down on last month's estimate of US$4,621,000 by $51,000 , a significant fall of about 1.1%. This month I potentially identified a way I could correctly identify Grandfathered Full Regions and initial figures indicate that their number is significantly lower than I've always assumed. The above estimates are based on the old method but I will switch to using the new method if it proves to be robust over the next month. If early numbers are any indication then the current Monthly Tier Estimate is between US$100,000 to US$150,000 lower than it should be. The top 20 landowners currently control 35.5% (+/- 1.3%) of private estate regions, This 0.6% down on last month , using list prices their holdings are down 1.3% to 30.2% of total private estate tier. The figures for the top 10 landowners are 26.5% (+/- 1.2%) of regions and 21.5% of tier (the larger estates tend to have a bigger proportion of homesteads than smaller estates). This share for the top 10 is 0.7% down on last months figure of 27.2% of private estate regions. The Top 10 Full Region/Homestead/Openspace proportions are 38.23/61.7%/0.0% and 38.2%/61.8%/0.0% for the top 20 The Top 20 Estates by number of regions held are as follows:
The largest fall this month was the ACS Azure Islands estate down 0.7% since last time (last month it was up 0.7%). All other top 20 estate changes were +/- 0.3% or less . The ACS total Share of Private Estates overall fell a little to 12.0%( +/-0.9%) down 0.1%. The Margins of error for these Estate shares range from +/-0.6% for the largest down to +/- 0.3% for the smallest so some of the ranking especially between 11th and 20th place may be slightly off. These rankings are purely on number of regions owned and are not based on FRE numbers . The regions were running on the following distribution of server class
Survey Details: This survey was based on a random sample of 5000 private estate regions drawn from all 21891 private estates on the grid on 1st September 2012. The actual surveying took place on 1st and 2nd September 2012. A further 14 regions were randomly selected to top up the sample, replacing those regions which were unavailable (other than closed to public access) at the time of surveying. |

| A net loss of 49 regions this week with Private Estates down by 48 and Linden Owned by 1 Total number of Main Grid regions is now 29002 ( 21878 private estates & 7124 Linden owned) 45 new regions were added and 24 returned to the grid, with 117 regions removed (30 were renamed and 0 came and went since last report) No particular estate showed significant falls or gains this week. In a short time LL is shifting to Class 8 the older Class 702 with a likely fast utilization of these blades on mainland. I am really impressed by the growing of Class 8 !!! it's impressive indeed !!! So the new LL mantra is to "save money as fast as you can". We know that LL can pay a dual socket new blade with around 1.5 months of tier, after this it's all money savings  . I'll not be surprised if remaining Class 5 will shift directly to Class 8This is a good manner to survive even with a lower number of sims online....beh! at least we know for certain that LL is well conscious that something is happening in SL grid. LL is structuring itself for an upcoming smaller virtual world. For the first time i agreed with LL strategy. | |

| The net loss in Private Estate Regions since Jan 1st exceeded 2000 regions today with 21853 private estates still on the grid compared with 23857 at the start of the year. This is a decline of 8.4%. The year to date net loss was 1997 yesterday. |

The last week in December is always has low concurrency and Lindex activity so I've taken first full week in Jan and compared it with past 7 days - Average Daily Lindex Volume was very similar with a 1.1% increase between Jan and September - 7 day volumes were 574,293,017 for Jan 2nd-8th 585,430,598 for Aug 30th-Sep 5th . Average exchange rate was 250.80 vs 249.65. However, Total number of transactions was marginally down 81191 for the 7 days at the start of the year to 80116 in past 7 days, a fall of 1.3% Concurrency was down by 5.5% for similar periods, from a 7 day average of daily median concurrency of 48568.71 for 1st week in Jan to 45885.36 for last 7 days | |

| Another quieter week with a net loss of 53 regions, Private Estates were down by 49 whilst Linden Owned lost 4 Total number of Main Grid regions is now 28949 ( 21829 private estates & 7120 Linden owned) 42 new regions were added and 27 returned to the grid, with 125 regions removed (25 were renamed and 0 came and went since last report) There were no major estate changes detected , the Linden Owned regions which went were the 4 Corn Field regions The number of Adult rated regions increased by 38 this week to 3648 (12.6% of the grid) on the other hand General rated regions declined by 35 to 4266 (14.7%) Breakdown of current regions by Ownership and Classification:

| A net loss of 64 regions this week, with Private Estates down by 66 and Linden Owned up by 2 Total number of Main Grid regions is now 28885 ( 21763 private estates & 7122 Linden owned) 41 new regions were added and 16 returned to the grid, with 121 regions removed (17 were renamed and 0 came and went since last report) The only significant Estate change this week was Royal Properties loss of 9 regions. | A large net drop of 121 regions this week, with private estates down by 119 and Linden owned by 2 Total number of Main Grid regions is now 28764 ( 21644 private estates & 7120 Linden owned) 38 new regions were added and 15 returned to the grid, with 174 regions removed (20 were renamed and 0 came and went since last report) This week saw the closing of the last 16 Ending Oceans Realty regions and 13 of the 15 Utopia Portugal Estate. There was no significant growth amongst any estate. The level of regions going off the grid (c150) is very much in line with normal weekly changes, even during period of growth , what is driving this overall fall is the collapse in new regions coming online. | This week the Grid lost 66 regions, with Privates down by 64 and Linden owned down by 2 Total number of Main Grid regions is now 28698 ( 21580 private estates & 7118 Linden owned) 57 new regions were added and 31 returned to the grid, with 153 regions removed (28 were renamed and 0 came and went since last report) The main loss this week was 31 regions owned by the OT Estate. There were no other major changes detected. Adult rated regions had a net fall of 28 Regions this week down to 2624 in total (12.6% of the grid) whilst General Rated grew by 3 to 4253 (14.8%) Breakdown of current regions by Ownership and Classification:

| September 2012 Private Estate Survey Now for the September 2012 Private Estate Survey results which are based on a sample of 5000 randomly selected private estate regions designed to estimate Full/Homestead/Openspace penetration. The results are as follows:
Of the 4336 accessible regions , 55.2% are Full Regions, 44.1% are Homesteads and 0.7% are Openspaces. The Margins of Error are +/-1.32% , +/- 1.32% and +/-0.22% respectively for the three figures figure at the 95% confidence level. This is a large swing away from Full regions this month down 2.0% share since last months survey and Homesteads correspondingly up by by 1.9% and with Openspaces unchanged. During this period Private estates had a net loss of 311 Regions to a total of 21580 representing a monthly decline of 1.4% , in line with than last months 1.5% loss. The proportion closed to public access was unchanged on last month at 13.3%. 8 of the Full Regions were Linden Developed Regions (i.e. sold new with content) were included in the sample this month, but no Developed Homesteads were included. Again as with all previous months this is too small penetration to estimate total number. 311 of the 1914 (16.3%) Homestead regions were at the new non-grandfathered rate, this is huge fall from last months figure of (42.5% ). On further investigation it looks like the vast majority of the change is due to the conversion of a large number of non grandfathered Homesteads (SKU Code 229) to Grandfathered Homesteads (SKU Code 029). In all cases where this occurred the region was owned by one of the large top 3 or 4 Estates. There is no indication that this is anything but LL changing the SKU codes on existing regions. I have no information as to whether this impacts actual tier rates on an ongoing basis , or whether or not it just reflects something which may already been implemented a while ago and LL are just finally catching up with house keeping. Taking these figures a good estimate of private estate tier due each month is US$4,363,000 +/- US$55,000 . (Calculated using known grandfathering rates but excludes any academic reductions and is rounded to the closest US$1000), this figure is down on last month's estimate of US$4,570,000 by $207,000 , a significant fall of about 4.7%approximately about US$60K if this fall is accounted by the reclassification of Homesteads from non-grandfathered to grandfathered status, but the rest is driven both by the overall all loss in regions and the relative steeper decline in Full regions rather than Homesteads However as I mentioned last month this tier estimate may be as much as US$100-150K lower than it should be because of an over estimate in number of Grandfathered Full Regions. The top 20 landowners currently control 35.9% (+/- 1.3%) of private estate regions, This 0.4% up on last month , using list prices their holdings are down 1.7% to 28.5% of total private estate tier The figures for the top 10 landowners are 26.8% (+/- 1.2%) of regions and 19.8% of tier (the larger estates tend to have a bigger proportion of homesteads than smaller estates). This share for the top 10 is 0.3% up on last months figure of 26.5% of private estate regions. In both cases Share of tier is down partially because of the homestead reclassification. The Top 10 Full Region/Homestead/Openspace proportions are 34.3/65.7%/0.0% and 36.1%/63.9%/0.0% for the top 20 The Top 20 Estates by number of regions held are as follows:
The largest rise this month was the Fruit Islands estate up 0.5% since last time . All other top 20 estate changes were +/- 0.3% or less . The ACS total Share of Private Estates overall fell a little to 11.5%( +/-0.9%) down 0.5%. The Margins of error for these Estate shares range from +/-0.6% for the largest down to +/- 0.2% for the smallest so some of the ranking especially between 11th and 20th place may be slightly off. These rankings are purely on number of regions owned and are not based on FRE numbers . The regions were running on the following distribution of server class
Survey Details: This survey was based on a random sample of 5000 private estate regions drawn from all 21580 private estates on the grid on 30th September 2012. The actual surveying took place on 30th September & 1st October 2012. A further 12 regions were randomly selected to top up the sample, replacing those regions which were unavailable (other than closed to public access) at the time of surveying. |

| This week we saw a net loss of 19 regions, Private Estates lost 31 whilst Linden Owned increased by 12 Total number of Main Grid regions is now 28679 ( 21549 private estates & 7130 Linden owned) 55 new regions were added and 27 returned to the grid, with 96 regions removed (28 were renamed and 0 came and went since last report) The LL increase was primarily a bookkeeping reclassification of 12 Linden Realm Staging regions which had been classified as Estate regions.There were no significant coming or goings seen amongst individual estates this week, Adult rated regions continued their growth after last weeks out of character drop, this week up 11 to 3635 (12.7% of the grid) whilst General rated fell by 13 to 4240 (14.8%) Breakdown of current regions by Ownership and Classification:

| Performance monitoring stats I'd like to share with you ladies and guys a new region performance measuring system that we have just released today. I am posting it here as I believe that some of you may find the information it provides to be not only of practical use but also of value for anyone interested in overall measure of grid performance. I am very much interested in feedback (in private please so we don't derail this thread again) on any of my statistical analysis of the gathered data, its presentation, and features. What sets this region monitor apart from anything of the sort previously available on the market is the fact that we are gathering performance data from all sims running the monitor and provide historical information back to the user through an interactive and graphical web interface, including comparative information of specific region v.s. grid average performance. In order to increase the early adoption of the tool and the sample size of the surveyed regions, the monitor is made available for free on the Marketplace. Those who install the monitor on their region can naturally see performance stats of their region, but everyone can still see grid average performance on our demo page which displays live information for one of our regions as well as the grid averages, just as it would be seen by someone who has installed the monitor and was viewing their own region performance page. The demo page is located at Region Report I hope that you'll find this information of value and on topic, and welcome your feedback (in private). |

| A net loss of 102 regions this week with Private Estates down by 96 and Linden Owned dropped by 6. Total number of Main Grid regions is now 28536 ( 21408 private estates & 7128 Linden owned) 54 new regions were added and 50 returned to the grid, with 173 regions removed (21 were renamed and 1 came and went since last report) The main loss this week were the 60 Royal Properties regions (6 are currently back on line) which was reported here on SLU earlier this week (Royal Properties goes belly up?). | I've just finished the October 2012 Private Estate Survey results which are based on a sample of 5000 randomly selected private estate regions designed to estimate Full/Homestead/Openspace penetration. The results are as follows:
Of the 4335 accessible regions , 55.3% are Full Regions, 44.1% are Homesteads and 0.6% are Openspaces. The Margins of Error are +/-1.32% , +/- 1.32% and +/-0.20% respectively for the three figures figure at the 95% confidence level. This result is almost unchanged from last months survey. During this period Private estates had a net loss of 228 Regions to a total of 21352 representing a monthly decline of 1.1% , a little less than last months 1.4% loss. The proportion closed to public access was unchanged on last month at 13.3%. 4 of the Full Regions were Linden Developed Regions (i.e. sold new with content) were included in the sample this month, along with 3 Developed Homesteads. Again as with all previous months this is too small penetration to estimate total number. 294 of the 1911 (15.6%) Homestead regions were at the new non-grandfathered rate, this is very small fall from last months figure of (16.3% ). Taking these figures a good estimate of private estate tier due each month is US$4,319,000 +/- US$54,000 . (Calculated using known grandfathering rates but excludes any academic reductions and is rounded to the closest US$1000), this figure is down on last month's estimate of US$4,363,000 by $44,000 , a fall of about 1.0% . The top 20 landowners currently control 36.7% (+/- 1.3%) of private estate regions, This 0.8% up on last month , using list prices their holdings are down 0.4% to 28.1% of total private estate tier The figures for the top 10 landowners are 27.7% (+/- 1.2%) of regions and 19.3% of tier (the larger estates tend to have a bigger proportion of homesteads than smaller estates). This share for the top 10 is 0.9% up on last months figure of 26.8% of private estate regions. The Top 10 Full Region/Homestead/Openspace proportions are 33.6%/66.4%/0.0% and 35.2%/64.8%/0.0% for the top 20 The Top 20 Estates by number of regions held are as follows:
The largest rise this month was RGF Estates up 0.4% since last month,the Fruit Islands estate dropped 0.5% and Dreamseeker Estate was down by 0.4% . All other top 20 estate changes were +/- 0.3% or less . The ACS total Share of Private Estates overall grew a little to 12.5%( +/-0.9%) up 1.0%. The Margins of error for these Estate shares range from +/-0.6% for the largest down to +/- 0.2% for the smallest so some of the ranking especially between 11th and 20th place may be slightly off. These rankings are purely on number of regions owned and are not based on FRE numbers . The regions were running on the following distribution of server class
Survey Details: This survey was based on a random sample of 5000 private estate regions drawn from all 21352 private estates on the grid on 1st November 2012. The actual surveying took place on 1st & 2nd November 2012. A further 4 regions were randomly selected to top up the sample, replacing those regions which were unavailable (other than closed to public access) at the time of surveying. |

| A net loss of 9 regions this week , the smallest loss since the last positive growth w/e 24 June, Private Estates were down by 10 whilst Linden owned gained 1 Total number of Main Grid regions is now 28488 ( 21357 private estates & 7131 Linden owned) 43 new regions were added and 31 returned to the grid, with 74 regions removed (17 were renamed and 0 came and went since last report) No significant Estate level changes were observed. Adult rated regions grew by 25 to 3678 (12.9% of the grid) while General rated fell by 9 to 4181 (14.7%) Breakdown of current regions by Ownership and Classification:

| This week we saw a net loss of 48 regions almost equally split between private Estates which were down 23 and Linden owned, down by 25. Total number of Main Grid regions is now 28440 ( 21334 private estates & 7106 Linden owned) 48 new regions were added and 26 returned to the grid, with 119 regions removed (20 were renamed and 1 came and went since last report) The main change this week was the removal of the 11 Corndog RC regions (directly owned by Oskar Linden) along with the 16 Oatmeal Region originally brought on-line by Oskar for testing region Maturity settings.. There were no major changes detected amongst private estates. Adult rated regions grew by 9 regions to 3687 (13.0% of the grid) while General rated fell by 8 to 4173 (14.7%) Breakdown of current regions by Ownership and Classification:
