| As mentioned last night this is a late report , but still based on Sunday's data, A net drop of 31 regions this week, all amongst private estates. Total number of Main Grid regions is now 31533 ( 24751 private estates & 6782 Linden owned) 133 new regions were added and 26 returned to the grid, with 190 regions removed (42 were renamed and 4 came and went since last report) Generally a quiet week, Kendallwood Virtual Estates added 10 regions whilst Richmond Land Management shuffled and renamed 21 regions with no net loss. | February 2011 Private Estate Survey - Dreamland ACS slips to 2nd place A little bit late but the results of the Private Estate survey of 5000 regions for February's estimate Full/Homestead/Openspace penetration are as follows:
Of the 4329 accessible regions , 57.3% are Full Regions, 42.2% are Homesteads and 0.5% are Openspaces. The Margins of Error are +/-1.34% , +/- 1.34% and +/-0.18% respectively for the three figures figure at the 95% confidence level. FUll regions are marginally up on last month (c.0.9%). During this period Private estates had a net decrease of 79 Regions to a total of 24751 . The proportion closed to public access was marginally (0.2%) up on last month at 13.4% . 4 of the Full Regions were Linden Developed Regions (i.e. sold new with content) and 1 Linden Developed Homesteads were included in the sample. Again as with all previous months this is too small penetration to reliably track. 6148of the 1827 (35.5%) Homestead regions were at the new non-grandfathered rate, this is a rise of 2.7% from last month (32.8% ). Taking these figures a good estimate of private estate tier due each month is US$5,125,000 +/- US$62,000 . (Calculated using known grandfathering rates but excludes any academic reductions and is rounded to the closest US$1000), this figure is marginally down on last month's estimate of US$5,151,000 by $26,000 , a drop of about 0.5% within the margin of error but there has been a trend of small drops each month now. The top 20 landowners currently control 30.2% (+/- 1.2%) of private estate regions, This 0.7% up on last month , using list prices their holdings represent 25.0% of total private estate tier. The figures for the top 10 landowners are 23.6% (+/- 1.2%) of regions and 18.8% of tier (the larger estates tend to have a bigger proportion of homesteads than smaller estates). This share for the top 10 is up on last month figure of 23.1% of private estate regions. The Top 10 Full Region/Homestead/Openspace proportions are 35.1%/64.8%/0.1% and 35.7%/64.2%/0.1% for the top 20 The Top 10 Estates by number of regions held are as follows:
The Margins of error for these Estate shares range from +/-0.59% for the largest down to +/- 0.27% for the smallest, Most of the changes in % were within margin of errors, The main significant change this week has been the decline in the ACS Dreamland share, but followers of my weekly reports will be aware that ACS have confirmed that they are shuffling ownership between their various estates and overall there probably is no real change in total holdings. However it does mean that RGF Estates Inc has moved in to first position as the largest single estate, though the difference between 1st and 2nd position is not statistically significant. These rankings are purely on number of regions owned and are not based on FRE numbers . Decembers list for the Estates in 11th to 20th position (In alphabetical order) is
The smallest of these is about half the size of the current estate in 10th position The regions were running on the following distribution of server class
Survey Details: This survey was based on a random sample of 5000 private estate regions drawn from all 24751 private estates on the grid on 27th February 2011. The actual surveying took place on 28th February 2011.A further 13 regions were randomly selected to top up the sample, replacing those regions which were unavailable (other than closed to public access) at the time of surveying. |

My Mood:  | "Just sayin'" about Dreamland ACS. Within a year, it has dropped by in excess of 540 sims. The obvious shift in sims to Jessica Chung and Miriam Chung do not account for even half of this drop in sims by Dreamland ACS. I wonder where the others went?... just sayin'. |

Anyway, here are the calculations: March 26, 2010, Dreamland ACS, 6.7 % of 24,741 estate sims = 1,658 sims Feb. 28, 2011, Dreamland ACS, 4.5 % of 24.751 estate sims = 1,114 sims = drop of 544 sims in 11 months. Chung girls now have about 285 sims. Azure Islands grew by about 100 sims. So around 385 sims accounted for. But 544 - 385 = 159 sims unaccounted for. But who is keeping track? | Tyche gets it wrong about Nascera On January 2nd I reported a new Nascera Census here New SL Sims in past week unfortunately I'm sorry but I made an error in my number crunching and what was reported as a 4.3% drop in Linden Home Occupancy was in fact a 7.5% rise as I mislaid c3000 occupied homes. The Actual figures for that census should have been 33388 Linden Homes occupied out of 36360 Total homes break down by theme as :
Changes since Last census (in sept 2010)
Current occupation levels
Mea Culpae ...  , this error showed up when I started to compile the current census which will be reported next (my automated counting was correct - it was the manual report creation which went wrong). |

| March Nascera Census Growth of 3.7% Here are the results for the Nascera census for March 2011 The Last Nascera Census was run at the end of December (the correct figures are in the post above) . The Nascera Regions for this census were surveyed on Saturday 6th March 2011. In the past quarter Linden Lab have added no additional regions to the existing 3 and a bit Nascera continents Linden Home capacity remains at 36360 homes. Since the end of December last year there has been a net increase of 1216 occupied Linden Homes , bringing the total to 34421, a change of 3.7% . Current occupation is 95% of the total available. Total homes break down by theme as :
The Tahoe A Frame and Modern themes showed growth,whilst the Fantasy Theme occupancy dropped by 3% The %changes since last census are as follows
All 4 themes have spare capacity, but the Modern Theme only has 109 available homes. Current occupancy rates by theme are :
This times growth is a small slowdown on the last two censuses which showed growth of over 7% . |

| It's now 3 years since my first survey during which time we've seen the grid grow and then shrink and slowly grow again now 78% larger than it was in March 2008, Over the three years most of the growth has been in Private estates which increased by 86% where Linden owned increased by 54%.Some how I've managed to keep up the weekly reporting schedule with only a handful of missed reports, so in keeping with tradition here is my Sunday report for this week This week the grid had a net loss of 35 regions, Private estates dropped by 67 whilst Linden owned added 32 Nascera Linden Home regions Total number of Main Grid regions is now 31488 ( 24674 private estates & 6814 Linden owned) 115 new regions were added and 15 returned to the grid, with 172 regions removed (29 were renamed and 2 came and went since last report) Other than the 32 new Linden Home regions added to the 4th Nascera continent there were no significant additions to the Grid. Dreamland ACS dropped 42 regions with no detected increases in other ACS owned estates. Breakdown of Host Server Classes by Ownership:

I would assume, therefore, that BunnyTail and BunnyEars are the same regions, likely with two additional (BunnyEggs and BunnyPaws). From looking at them on slurl.com, they're all grouped together, and carbon copies of one another. |

| This week the grid grew by ..... nothing, The Net Size remained the same. However Private Estates had a net loss of 27 whilst Linden owned gained 27 Total number of Main Grid regions is now 31488 ( 24647 private estates & 6841 Linden owned) 124 new regions were added and 55 returned to the grid, with 182 regions removed (29 were renamed and 2 came and went since last report) The main additions this week were the return of the 21 SL7B regions , ready to be recycled into SL8B ones and the return of 11 Welcome Islands (though 9 others went off line) , there was no major growth noted amongst Private Estates, The only significant shrinkage this week was with the Richmond Land Management estate which dropped 24 regions (Net). Anshe Chung contacted me a few weeks ago to let me know that there was a ACS decision to split the older larger ACS estates into smaller sub estates to make management easier amongst other things and that the Chung name would be used as Estate Owners/Managers of the various sub estates. | 12 regions down this week, Private Estates had a net loss of 6 whilst Linden Owned dropped 6 Total number of Main Grid regions is now 31476 ( 24641 private estates & 6835 Linden owned) 150 new regions were added and 21 returned to the grid, with 183 regions removed (34 were renamed and 1 came and went since last report) The main moves this week were Dreamland ACS transferring more sims to it's sister estates, Dreamland ACS lost 35 whilst Miriam Chung gained 20 and Jessica Chung gained 12. Other estates adding new regions were BASE Properties who added 9 and Surreal Estates who added 9.Not directly observed as new regions but of some significance this weke was the acquisition of the 39 Valhalla estate by Zoha Islands On other news I'm currently sitting on the results of a Mainland Census which finished last weekend , and in the process of running the monthly Private Estate survey but will report these in the next few days. | The March Private Estate survey of 5000 regions which estimates Full/Homestead/Openspace penetration follows:
Of the 4375 accessible regions , 56.7% are Full Regions, 42.6% are Homesteads and 0.7% are Openspaces. The Margins of Error are +/-1.33% , +/- 1.33% and +/-0.22% respectively for the three figures figure at the 95% confidence level. Full regions are marginally down on last month (c.0.6%). During this period Private estates had a net decrease of 100 Regions to a total of 24651 . The proportion closed to public access was down by 0.9% on last month at 12.5%. 4 of the Full Regions were Linden Developed Regions (i.e. sold new with content) and 2 Linden Developed Homesteads were included in the sample. Again as with all previous months this is too small penetration to reliably track. 679 of the 1865 (36.4%) Homestead regions were at the new non-grandfathered rate, this is a rise of 0.9% from last month (35.5% ). Taking these figures a good estimate of private estate tier due each month is US$5,076,000 +/- US$61,000 . (Calculated using known grandfathering rates but excludes any academic reductions and is rounded to the closest US$1000), this figure is down on last month's estimate of US$5,125,000 by $49,000 , a drop of about 1.0% within the margin of error but still following the trend of small drops each month now. The top 20 landowners currently control 29.3% (+/- 1.2%) of private estate regions, This 0.9% down on last month , using list prices their holdings represent 24.5% of total private estate tier. The figures for the top 10 landowners are 22.2% (+/- 1.1%) of regions and 17.8% of tier (the larger estates tend to have a bigger proportion of homesteads than smaller estates). This share for the top 10 is down on last month figure of 23.6% of private estate regions. The Top 10 Full Region/Homestead/Openspace proportions are 36.9%/62.9%/0.2% and 36.0%/63.9%/0.2% for the top 20 The Top 10 Estates by number of regions held are as follows:
The Margins of error for these Estate shares range from +/-0.61% for the largest down to +/- 0.30% for the smallest, Most of the changes in % were within margin of errors, The main significant change this week has been the decline in the ACS Dreamland share from last months 4.5% to 2.8%, but this has been mainly due to a reorganisation of ACS holdings amongst a total of 9 known accounts (including Jessica, Victoria, Judy, Miriam, Barbie and Lorena Chung), Overall ACS still owns at least 8.3% of private regions. With a purchase of the Vallhalla Estate, Zoha Islands grew this week to a 1.9% detected share. These rankings are purely on number of regions owned and are not based on FRE numbers . Survey Details: This survey was based on a random sample of 5000 private estate regions drawn from all 24651 private estates on the grid on 26th March 2011. The actual surveying took place on 27th & 28th March 2011.A further 15 regions were randomly selected to top up the sample, replacing those regions which were unavailable (other than closed to public access) at the time of surveying. |
