| I've just made my Second Life Published Incident Database public. You can browse and search this database directly at Second Life Incident Reports Repository . It is also reachable as a link on the Second Life Grid Survey homepage. As mentioned previously this covers all known published incident reports back to June 2007. Known regions where incidents are reported are cross linked to my Second Life Region database on the same site. The database is updated hourly directly from Second Life | Community: Incident Report Later I will be adding summary charts so you can track total incidents or particular violations over time. I plan to do something similar for the regions data as well.

| I've just added automatic summary charts to my Second Life Published Incident Repository . They are accessible via links on the main page or directly here Second Life Incident Reports Summary Charts Currently the available charts are 1) Total Incidents by month 2) Top 20 Incident categories to date 3) Top regions in terms of number of incidents to date and then individual charts for each Incident Category showing number of incidents by month ( currently there are 90 Categories). These charts are dynamic and automatically update daily . I have no objections to anyone hotlinking them , but beware that the data in them potentially changes every day so if you want to use them it may be best to take a copy. Also on the region information page where full details of a region are displayed I've added a link to Snapzilla Sim based search so you can see any Snapzilla hosted pictures taken in that region. This of course creates a new game for when SL is unavailable: Step 1) Search the Incidents database to pull up all Regions where there were AR's for Indecency Step 2) Pick one Region and jump to the Region page Step 3) Click on the Snapzilla link go directly to see if any one took any pictures of the indecent acts Step 4) Rinse and Repeat  |

| The grid showed net growth of 83 regions this week and like last week all this growth was in Priavte Estates. Total number of Main Grid regions is now 29383 ( 23812 private estates & 5571 Linden owned) 217 new regions were added and 30 returned to the grid, with 173 regions removed (36 were renamed and 2 came and went since last report) Over 60 of the new regions are Dreamland ACS homesteads There are currently 1592 Adult region which account for 5.4% of the Main Grid. | LL added another 33 regions to Zindra in the past 24 hours. Currently they still have their generic Ursula names and much is currently default granite terrain - I'm assuming, as with other ursula regions, they will be terraformed at a later date. | Overall a quiet week with the Main Grid showing a net contraction of 10 regions, private estates dropped by 43 regions whilst Linden owned grew by 33. Total number of Main Grid regions is now 29373 ( 23769 private estates & 5604 Linden owned) 171 new regions were added and 26 returned to the grid, with 215 regions removed (37 were renamed and 4 came and went since last report) The 2 significant changes this week were the Zindra expansion of 33 ursula generic regions and the 40 or so BnT regions which finally came off the grid after being down for 3 to 4 days. | 29.9% of Mainland is Owned by Governor Linden I've just finished processing a survey of a sample of the 5604 Linden Owned regions . This survey indicates that 29.9% is owned by Governor Linden i.e. is either Abandoned,Protected Land, Empty, Available for Auction or Specifically Linden owned such as info hubs and Help islands. The rest of this land is owned by private residents. The margin of error on this is +/-3.4% at the 95% confidence level, this margin of error includes a correction for the sample design . So for all intents and purposes it's probably reasonably accurate to say 70% of Mainland is owned by private residents. For those statistically inclined the survey design was a two stage cluster sampling design with 501 random regions being selected and a second stage of a total of 5027 random 4x4sqm plots selected within these regions. All selections were without replacement EDIT: In the same survey I can confirm that 88.0% of all Mainland is Group owned (+/- 1.6%) as opposed to Individually owned - (Most Governor Linden owned is actually held by the Maintenance Group) . Hear, hear! Tyche, you already know how fabulous you are but this is so cool. I know it's pushing it somewhat but this run reasonably regularly is probably one of the best indicators of sl health as linden land usually never increases unless they're continent building so any increase can usually be assigned to the abandoned category. I'm surprised there are 12% of people who haven't put their land in a group (although you don't say how much of that is LL land). It's nice to have it confirmed that mainland owners have the smarts to take advantage of it. /me passes over a delightfully wrapped box of Belgian pralines as a reward. | |

I don't suppose you've been keeping the stats that LL put out are you? The ones about resident numbers or concurrency or spending? I looked at the emerald logon screen the other day and it says the number of accounts is around 17mil. That means sl has had something like a 5% growth in accounts (and remember something like 95% of new signups don't stay) in the last 12 months. I could be wrong and of course LL don't put a decent history out for stuff like spending, accounts etc etc so I can't get data to verify. I did notice that the last 60 days number has dropped around 20% from 2 months ago. so 300,000 less people logged on in the last two months. Looking at the concurrency figures from etitsup it looks like concurrency is dropping along with max logins (which could be the bot cleanup or a myriad of things) http://etitsup.com/slstats/concurrency/full.png so I just thought I'd ask.. /me still looks impossibly cute and keeps waving the chocs just out of arms reach... |

Tateru Nino however keeps a lot of published SL data here Second Life Statistical Charts « Dwell On It Looking at her median concurrency chart for the past 12 months it looks like it peaked in 1st qtr 09 and is back to 4th qtr 08 figures - This could be a seasonal effect but that's difficult to say with only 1 years worth of data . |

| Yet again a slow week on the Grid, which showed a small net growth of 30 regions (29 Private Estates) Total number of Main Grid regions is now 29403 ( 23798 private estates & 5605 Linden owned) 168 new regions were added and 30 returned to the grid, with 177 regions removed (71 were renamed and 3 came and went since last report) There were no major coming or goings on the Grid though the new 33 Ursula Regions were renamed to their final names. Whilst my daily grid surveys have showed a quiet grid, I've been busy this week running two special surveys.
