| 666 new regions this week. About average resulting in a net increase of 539 regions . This brings the Main grid up to 26433 regions (21464 private estates). No major newsworthy sims that I can see , Anshe and Zeitewelt all increasing their estates amongst others. Last Sunday I reported on the arrival of the 31 Heroes sims and speculated widely that they may be something to do with the TV series , not that they are open to the public I see I was wrong - They are part of the ACS Relay for Life project . Well worth a visit as there are a lot of wonderful builds across the regions. | 126 sims left the grid though 32 of these were just renames . Overall this is a slight increase on past weeks resulting in 76 estate regions going off line, growth though is still very positive . Included in the departed sims are 19 of the SL5B sims as well as renames of the example regions showing the 4 default islands available to order . These have now been given full names instead of the generic Island 1 , Island 2 etc, The new names have a distinctly Linden flavour - Ruth's Retreat,Hippo Hills Island,Loch Linden, Prima Point along with the nearby test region now known as Proactive Initiatives ... (if only :sigh: ) . They can all be foun in a little archipelago near the Linden Estate Services sim. | A mid week update as there are subtle changes to the number of estates sims going off line this week - To date there have been 262 new sims delivered (+ 33 renames) since Sunday - this is broadly in line with the previous 7 or 8 weeks, but what has changed is the number of Estates sims going off line - 153 for the first 3 days of this week (this also excludes renames and the 31 ACS Heroes sims which went offline) - This is a significant jump on previous weeks ( 63,69 & 63 going off line for the whole of the last 3 weeks) . Net Growth is still positive but there seem to be signs of softening of the private sim market . This doesn't seem to be a single large estate holding folding - the names are varied and I can see no major pattern. The turning off is spread over the past 3 days fairly evenly Quote:

There had to be some sort of reaction to the mad rush to open space. Methinks this may continue for a while. And all happening while no mainland is being added.......a reason for the lab to be concerned.  |

| As mentioned earlier this week a lot more estates sims going off line than in previous weeks. Growth is still positive but has slowed significantly. In total there were 537 new sims which after removing renames and 22 mainland sims comes to 448 new estate regions slightly less than previous weeks . This compares with 310 regions going off-line - Again when you remove the renames, mainland sims and also the 31 special ACS single event Heroes regions - this is a loss of 212 estate regions. The prior three weeks have been stable at a loss of 63 ,69 & 63 estate regions each. The 22 new Mainland sims are technically not new as they are Corsican generic named sims (corsica_reg1, corsica_reg2 & corsica_reg8 ) being given proper names - These 22 Sims tend to be large full sized protected water regions so I doubt any will be up for auction in the future. | Just looking at the names of the 310 sims which went off line this week doesn't yield much information about who is pulling out - They seem to be spread across estates owners - though the Serenity and Brinkerhead estates do stand out . On looking at the creation dates (When they were first seen) of the sims going off line most of the 212 estates disappearing predate the new land store (and the new purchase prices /launch of opensims which happened round the same time ) - 49 of the estates offline went online in the past 2 months. | Total number of region is now 27282 ( 22237 private estates & 5045 Linden mainland) 757 new regions added, with 191 regions removed (71 were renamed). A smaller number of removals than last week but still higher than previous weeks . The new regions include a large 60+ region estate which came on line this week (to see this search for the Dido region in the map) - I'm unable to TP to any of the regions so have no idea of the owner - The map shows very limited terraforming. Microsoft brought online a region for the Visula Studio 2008 SP1 launch - imaginatively named VS2008/.NET 3.5 SP1. Also a further 54 Mainland sims were added - 20 Help Islands and the rest being generic corsican region renames, (Alistat, Bogatanta, Breitbach, Broenneke, Bunocciero, Colionness, Deglandon, Degrand, Dubonnest, Frumatay, Gueltierrez, Hatstat, Johannessen, Mautte, McConaught, McGinnity, McRitchie, Meidland, Mon Bayete,Morataya, Paltiete, Qentatzo, Raduccieri, Ridepau, Sarante, Shoebow, Shrolpire, | Having been away this weekend I'm late with my new sims report. This week covers 8 days to Monday - During which time 610 new regions arrived and 280 went off line (74 of these are renames) The 280 removed regions includes 88 Linden Orientation Islands - It seems new users now go direct to Help Island instead of Orientation Island (well my brand new alt did) - This may be an old change but the Orientation Islands have now been removed from the main grid These
