First of all, I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this but I think its the right forum because it is business related.

In a virtual business:
I would like to know people's replies to Defamation.

I know one company who likes to use that word a lot, and now that they defamed me today (literally) I would like to know people's answers to that word. This is not a hate post, I would like your replies to this question.

By the way, the company who defamed me today in a way is Second Ads.
Second Ads is run in Second Life by the way.

I guess maybe I didn't know what forum would be proper but I need people to understand this concept, unfortunately.

I really want to know more about Defamation of Virtual Business. This "Wili Clip" person keeps saying anyone who "attacks his system" is "intentionally defaming" of company.

This is what I would like to know more of!

You state you've been defamed but you don't present any evidence or concrete examples of what was said about your company that you have interpreted as defamation.

Until we have anything more to go on than your vague reference, there is nothing for us to argue over. This thread does not deliver.

We're a very large growing community and we won't allow individuals to try to harm our users with insults, attacks or drama.

We'we recently changed main LGH group to invite only because of few people who have been attacking and harrassing our moderators, players and products (mainly runninghorse62, wardenstillwater theri associatives).

Through notices he is stating specific names, and bad spelling, just to cover himself, Beebo.

I would also recommend reading the truth blog.

And most of my talk in my blog is from what the rivals posted about me, I do speak English.

It is about bad business practices and the use of defamation to attack me.

I've not a clue what you mean by my "reply to Defamation." I WOULDN'T reply to a potential defamation, it just complicates the court case. Practically speaking, if a court doesn't say it is defamation, it isn't defamation, and once the court says that, no reply is needed.

Precise legal definitions of what is defamatory and what is fair comment vary considerably from nation to nation, as well as context to context.

If someone printed or broadcast something defamatory about you or your business, AND you can show they either knew it to be untrue or, with reasonable diligence, would have known it was untrue, that might be libel. (If they just said it to someone, that might be slander.)

So what's the question?

I've filed 3 AR's on Defamation, they did it 3 times to me and continue to do that to destroy my SL credibility.

I'm afraid my eyes glazed over with the original post.

Please explain what the issue is.

All I got out of the post was "this guy said some things about me that aren't true."

If that's the case, you have a couple of recourses: ignore the guy saying those things about you, or ARing him for defamation and then wait to see if the lindens give a rat's ass about your AR.

Lots of people in Second Life spread rumors and lies about other people. It's called Drama. If you just ignore it, ie: mute the person, then it should go away.

If he's defaming your sl business, he's just one dude. I don't care if he runs Second Ads or not. He's not God. Nor does everyone in the grid know him or care about him.

I don't like it when people say stupid crap about me either, but I guess I have a thicker skin than most. If someone says something about me in group chat, I'll just laugh it off. I've found when you treat things people talk about you as a joke in group chat, the person bothering you gives up, and most other people don't care anyway.

Personally, I've never heard of Second Ads. Unless there is truth in what was said, you have nothing to worry about.

I tried out SecondAds and know of Wili Clip from that. SecondAd didn't really work for me but I'm sure it probably works for other folks. It was a live and learn kind of thing for me since I forked out some cash to try it out and the results were less than underwhelming.

I'm not sure why someone with a business like that would bother to disparage someone in group chat, but I guess we all have our off days.

Also, drama thread with no drama is Teh Majorly Suck. How can we mock either party without Teh Dharmaz?

You have to look at the blogs in his sig, which contain wall of text rants and chatlogs. Your eyes will glaze over,and your mind will melt at the poor formatting. That's if you can get over the writing itself, which is like some bizarre hybrid of a parody of a really poor ESLer, and an illiterate teenager let loose on the net.

Maybe it's performance art, I dunno.

You did the right thing in filing abuse reports. You don't explain why the owner of Second Ads would have a vendetta against you, but he is more exposed than you are. A list of his entire customer base is available by just viewing his ads.

Fishing and breeding is an addictive SL activity, so I am sure your customers are more loyal to you than Mr. Second Ads' customers are loyal to him.

It's because his "managing director" had a little problem with me because I was different when I used to work for him. She didn't like how I was the only one nice and not rude when trying to interact with players or community.

Advertising has always been an ugly business in Second Life. If you stay honest and don't inflate your numbers, you will definitely do better than the others out there.

I too have looked at the "Truth" blog. And all I can see is somebody who sees drama and attacks everywhere (although is incapable of actually making it comprehensible).

But hey, high drama over virtual fishing rods (I think this is the subject) was an interesting coffee break.

It's nothing to do with that Blady, it's trying to get more information in order to help. You can't help but jump on snippets if that's all that is offered. Personally i have absolutely no reason to defend Willi Clip or his businesses and i wish this guy luck trying to get some comeback. But from what it seems this guy has set up another business after working for Second Ads or one of it's subsidiaries and is now feeling the results of doing so

As mentioned above it's likely to have to go through a civil court process in order to be resolved.
