I'll say that Zoey is one of the few people I've ever felt the need to explicitly ban from land of mine or stores I operated simply because she's consistently had a notorious reputation for this sort of thing in her very long career within SL.

That's probably why I looked at this with immediate scepticism, but again having been exposed to this sort of thing from her many times in the past I knew right what to look at.

No I did in fact wait until her reply before leaving a negative review. Since I posted her response in my review.

Your own chatlog calls you a liar.

[2012/04/21 09:36] U Mode: you ignored the big warning sign and you didnt read the description, you bought it anyway despite the fact that it said it will not work
[2012/04/21 09:36] U Mode: than you went back to the page and gave a negative rating saying the same exact thing in the review that i said in the item description to warn people before they buy it

All I will say is that I gave this lady the benefit of the doubt, she had opportunity to respond, and when she did, I was so appauled THEN I left the review on marketplace.

Believe what you guys will, I was just wanting to warn people of such horrible customer service.

The chatlog has timestamps, and she makes direct reference to it in her reply to you.

She replied at 8:20 and it went to offline messages, you replied at 8:37 and at 9:36 she referenced your negative review.

The only way you could not have left the review before hearing back from her is if

1) You waited barely an hour to leave it
2) You left a negative review on what was a single line of text in an IM to you

both of which make you seem just as trigger-happy and determined to cause someone else trouble just the same as if you'd left it without waiting to hear back; this also ignores the fact that the content creator herself mentions your review (and thus was already aware of it) in her reply to you, so I rather doubt you waited anyway.

Your own chatlog call you a liar i donīt think any costumer service would have made you happy tbh not unless the creator had made those shorts liek you wanted and not how they where intended too work, and again the chatlogs on the review i do hope you get a suspension or at least a warning for that.

if I didn't want to hear from her, how did I manage to pull a chatlog out of my ass to post in the product review? I posted my review based on her initial response to me of "JESUS". That is just plain rude to respond to a customer that way.

I don't use the marketplace, can someone else say if you can edit a review after you leave one?

Ok, fine. Let's ignore the review and chat log stuff for a minute.

I'm still confused by you.
Why the hell would you buy something that you are told isn't right for you and then complain because it isn't right for you?

Do you do that in RL too? Do you routinely go to the department store, buy jeans that are two sizes too small for you, then blame the manufacturer when you can't squeeze your ass into them?

No of course not Alana.. I totally admit I didn't read the description through, but that was not my point. My point was how she reacted to my inquiry. Then for her to go and say she hears this a lot from other customers.... well maybe she needs to change something if this is a reoccuring problem. In a business the customer is always right, virtual business or whatever! When you deal with customers you don't respond with "JESUS" as your initial response.

Is there any indication that a review was deleted in the interim?

Actually, I think the merchant is well within his/her rights to AR Zoey, because of the chatlog review. I've seen people get suspended for less.

It does make a difference knowing that she didn't wait for the merchant to contact her before she put up that review.

I still don't think I'd be rude about it, but the gloves are definitely off and I'd be incensed about it.

Hopefully about how dumb you were to buy something without reading the description first and what a heartfelt apology you have for wasting both the time of the content creator as well as SLU's membership.

No. Just no.

Currently, I do phone support in RL. Clients are rarely ever right. It's often my job to fix client screw ups. I get paid to do it as politely as possible, so I do. But you can bet some days I'm either cursing them or laughing at them in my head at the same time.

In this situation, this was your mistake. I do think that the merchant should have been more polite, but if this is a regular occurrence for them, then I can understand the lack of patience. Had you simply responded with "Oops, my bad, I didn't read it. Nevermind." their mood probably would have been better too.

One of the things I've learned from my RL job, is to be a better consumer myself and acknowledge that, in situations when I am the customer, I may not be right.

If the merchant is hearing this complaint often, what should they do to correct it?
Should they stop selling the item because it is customized for a specific avatar shape only?
Should they go to all the work to create one that will magically fit every possible avatar shape on the market?
Or should they make it as clear as possible in the description that it is customized for only ONE avatar shape .... oh wait, they did that one.

Rhetorical question:
If you were given an alpha layer for shorts, even though it wasn't part of the product description, and you'd wear that alpha layer and the mesh shorts still wouldn't fit for the obvious reason stated in the product description ... would that count as acceptable customer service?

Or what were they supposed to do? Provide you with a matching mesh avatar at their expenses?

The notecard I referenced said this..which is why I thought maybe I was missing an alpha layer somewhere that was not included with the product.

*2. - my avatar's body parts are clipping/ poking through the mesh clothing.

If you are using the LL avatar, wear the included alpha masks, they hide those parts, if theres more than 1 mask and you are using the phoenix viewer, you might have problems since last time i checked you couldn't wear more than one alpha mask at the same time. better just download firestorm.

You know, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. Hell, I don't know you the way Joshua seems to know you, and I figured you might have caught a merchant on a really bad day or something.

But having slept on this and going back through this thread, you know what? If I were that merchant I would send in an abuse report on you for sharing chatlogs. That is against the ToS.

Yes, they were snarky. There's usually no excuse for a merchant being snarky. HOWEVER, it would appear that you instigated that snark. There was no reason to leave such a review. When you buy stuff on the marketplace and it's not what you thought it would be, by all means contact the creator and BE NICE ABOUT IT.

Give them time to respond. Contrary to popular belief, most merchants don't cater to sl every waking moment. Real life happens.

Give them time to correct the error. And IF THERE IS NO ERROR, suck it up. In this case there was no error from the merchant. You simply misread the ad.

I did too, honestly, but you know what? It's 100L. That's what, about 75 cents? Rather than leave a nasty review for something that was MY mistake, I'd just say "oh well, I'm out almost a buck."

When I bought some hair from a very nice hair merchant, I went back to his store looking for more. I stupidly accidentally bought the same hair AGAIN. You know what? Mistakes happen. It was cheap enough that I didn't bother to contact the creator to tell him my mistake. Maybe you should let this one go, since you're the one in error here.

Usually there is a message to the merchant after a review has been posted.

But in the test I just did, no message was sent.
Possibly because I deleted the review so fast. I assume there is some sort of delay.

If there is no message upon deleting a review the only way to know there was actually one deleted is when you have less reviews than before.

I would say that all the merchants of SL need to be warned that you are incapable of reading english, have a huge sense of entitlement, and that they should ban you from their stores, and the Marketplace.
