Then why did you disparage the old infohubs? Also, you realize they don't drop anyone new in them anymore. They made the destination islands for that purpose a year or two ago.

Having been to Ahern, Watershead, and Ambat, yeah a lot of people there do tend to be abrasive assholes pretty much all the time. Maybe it's just the proximity of so many people, but infohubs do seem to attract the lower lifeforms of Second Life. That's not just a first impression, but a second, third and fourth impression as well.

There are friendlier places to hang out, honestly, so I'm not sure why you're bragging about being a resident of Ahern. You're not that giant spiderish avatar dude, are you? If so, seeing your ranting in here really explains a lot.

Nah, it's not as bad as you might think. The great "we can't stop here, it's troll country" myth persists only because of the impact asshats like PN had on the infohubs back in '07. But in reality mostly older folks, old accounts, and the like hang out in the infohubs. A stray newbie will find their way to Ahern only because the landmark is in the library. So, if you think Waterz and the like are trolls, it's probably because you haven't taken five minutes to listen to them. You'll find most of the folks are quite friendly, but honest about their feelings.

Also, no one new actually ever gets dumped on purpose there for many reasons probably outlined by the Lindens on the matter when they introduced the destination islands and search category.
