Copy vs Trans Perms on Clothing

I have a question for the clothing merchants (and buyers) out there - do you sell (buy) clothing with MOD/COPY or MOD/TRANS perms?

I started out last December selling my stuff MOD/TRANS, because I thought people would like to give funny t-shirts as gifts. By January the folks in the XStreetSL forums (and my personal experience) had convinced me that MOD/COPY was the way to go.

Now that the holiday sales season is starting I'm getting questions from potential customers about MOD/TRANS versions so they can give them as gifts. I notify these folks that I have my shirts available in a gift vendor (Hippo) so they can buy them for their friends, but very few people have used that option.

I'm wondering if it would be worth making MOD/TRANS versions available for sale right in the store? It would be a lot of work, and I'm not sure how many sales I may get. Right now I'm thinking I should just post signs making the availability of the Gift Vendor (in the back of the store) clearer.

I'd love to hear the opinions of others on this subject.

I really don't see a need for having clothes as being TRANS unless you plan on releasing something free or full perms. I've always put the gift vendors at the front of the store with a sign overtop saying that it was a giftable vendor. That and having a similar sign saying all goods are available on XstreetSL should really cover all your needs.

The only time I've really run into a situation where a customer had a valid point on needing a trans item was a custom build I had done for them on a landscaped sim. They were planning on selling the developed property along with the build.

Very good point! I already have about 2/3rds of my shirts available on XStreet. Guess I better get off my duff and list the rest too.

I'm not sure moving the vendor to the front of the store is a viable option for me. I'll have to think about it.

I do have an XStreetSL sign in a front window - the kind that when clicked gives a URL to my XStreet listings. At least it did, haven't checked it myself in ages. I'll do so when I get home from work tonight. And I'll get to work posting the rest of my stuff on XStreet.

Thanks for the feedback, folks!
