Bit of odd trivia also. Here is what we know as the title for Mad Max:

Here is a title from early days of Sega's Mega Drive/Genesis:

Nice inspiration eh? Kind of fitting to rip the title style for the game Last Battle. Why? Because Last Battle is set in a post apocalyptic environment with biker gangs, shoulder pads and more. Of course the game is a slightly changed for the US release of the Fist of the North Star game based on the anime series of the same name.

Regardless, it is Max's iconic ride regardless of what it is called. A quick bit of digging led me to this find:

Shot in 2012 during filming. No idea where this fits into the "continuity" of Max's ride.
The make and model is not what makes it an interceptor or pursuit..Those are not model names for the car.
The section the officer is in is what gives it the label..

It's if they are a pursuit officer or interceptor officer..Just like if they were in k9 section of the police. They would be in a k9 unit..If it is patrol it's a patrol car..

A colorful pursuit is pursuit, a black v8 pursuit is a pursuit special..
Same goes for the interceptors..If it is a v8 in an interceptors car ,it's a V8 interceptor..

Night rider took the pursuit special from a guy that was a pursuit officer..

I agree it's not a big deal..Just saying it's not a model or make of the car..It's an identifier of what the vehicle is used for by the officer, like most all police vehicles are..

It does bother me how the guy in Mad max 2 even knew it would be one or the other LOL
Unless v8 interceptors all had blowers and pursuit specials didn't.
That or he was just the all knowing awesome mechanic that knew everything hehehe

I'm just glad it's almost May so we can see it soon, that's the main thing =) hehehe

Also, i had seen that picture of the one ready for paint back when i was searching after the first trailer came out..
I was wearing out the internet for any kind of clues as to where this movie fit into the series..
I was worried it was gonna be a reboot at first..
Not so worried about that now after seeing the new one =)

I'll see if i can find some of the pics i found back then and link them here..
There was a couple of neat sites i found that have been working on clues for when this movie was going to come out..
Some have been around for a few years now with all kinds of cool images and info..

Hugh Keays-Byrne, Tim Burns and Reg Evans (Toecutter, Johnny the Boy, and the stationmaster) were all classically-trained Shakespearean stage actors.

Nice glimpses of Max's car being fixed there in the beginning of the trailer.

Totally not watching that. 20 minutes??? I plan to see the movie this month, that's waaaay too much spoilerage.

I gotta decide though - regular or 3D?

Some of it is little 1 minute snips. The big chunk is an 18 minute b reel of behind the scenes stuff, mainly different angles of shots etc.

And on Rotten Tomatoes, so far, it has...

*inhales*

99%

That's with 75 reviews and 32k ratings.

Pics or it didn't happen. No film with action in makes the sour bunch of twunts at Rotten Tomatoes smile!

Mirror.co.uk is currently the lone dissenting negative review keeping it from 100% rating.

It's a summer blockbuster popcorn flick and doesn't pretend to be anything else. Any review with a complaint like "too much action, not enough plot" can be ignored as having been written by an idiot.

Can't wait to see it!

If this film has any substance to go with the style, they're doing it wrong.

100% Style.

0% Substance.

It will be a lovely day.

Saw it yesterday, had zero expectations (because I had never seen the old films) and, what can I say, it was glorious!
The actions sequences (which pretty much make up 3/4 of the movie) made my heart race, not a single dull moment there. And the few quiet scenes were much needed just to catch my breath. Overall, there is such lovely cinematography and characters one can grow to love or hate, even with the limited dialogue the film offers.
We watched it in 3D, which was pretty neat, but not aaaaabsolutely necessary, I think. But I'd definitely recommend watching it on the big screen.
In conclusion: Go see it, now!

So my brother is finally getting a driver's license so I've been the co-pilot for his accompanied drives. I told him this weekend we'll drive long distance and go to the neighbouring city's cineplex to see a documentary about Australia that should help with his driving skills too.

Why can't people just watch a movie and not try to bring other stuff into it?
