I believe that PBS is supposed to air series 2 just after the new year. I'm a fan of it on Facebook and so get updates that way. Definitely one of the best series I saw this year.

I watched the show on Amazon Instant Video. Didn't know what I was getting into...after the first episode I marathon'd the entire first season in one sitting.

I love it too

Watched both new episodes now, then again on ITV+1... then again on ITV player...

Interesting character developments. Episode 2 was a little bland... but i think it's setting up for more future development. The trails for ep 3 at the end looked more interesting.

It's my favourite serie!
I just hope they don't make me wait for the kiss between Anna and Mr Bates until 3rd season.
I've been thinking on not watching any episode of the 2nd season until it's finished because I know I can't watch only one.

I do hate being held hostage by TV schedules, and so for a lot of my favourite shows I have waited until they are released on DVD before watching the whole season in one or two mammoth sessions! I do prefer watching them like that now, but I just couldn't wait for Downton (or Spooks)

Oh I never follow any TV schedule, I use to watch the seasons of any serie one after another (thanks internet lol), but with Downton Abbey I couldn't wait, next day of the release in UK I already had to watch it.
Fortunately many series have already started too, so while I watch them I try to forget about Downton Abbey.
I better move to other thread, the less I heard about Downton Abbey the better, hehehe

It's not in the same league as 'Lark Rise to Candleford' but it does show nicely how society must have been changing a hundred years ago. I found it amazing to see that electricity in houses was still a novel idea then - makes you wonder what they did with their computers!

Thanks, wasn't aware of this series.
I'm a sucker for these kinds of dramas.
Season 1 starts now for me.

Whatshisname and I got so engrossed in this show over the weekend that we just kind of didn't bother getting out of bed on Sunday. We just sat in bed watching Downton Abbey, and we actually paid to buy series 2 from Itunes because neither Netflix or Amazon Instant Video had it yet. We just HAD to know what happened next! It's going to be a long wait until series 3 starts.

I wish someone would take it away from Julian Fellows now. He made a good start. Take it from me, that Titanic thing he wrote...don't go there!

OMG I am hanging out for Series 3.

While I was watching the christmas 2011 special I was nearly crying because it seemed that so many story lines were being neatly packaged up and that it was finishing! So I madly googled and wiki'd to find that Series 3 starts in September.

I'm so excited that Shirley MacLean will be playing Cora's mother this year. Apparently there will be some tense scenes between her and Maggie Smith.

Maggie

My sister and I were watching - I think it's episode 5 of series 2 over the phone together last night. We were both bawling by the end.

Wouldn't Upstairs/Downstairs be the original Downton?
