I don't even like super hero movies, but this was just awesome. It was a real pleasure watching him as the Joker, he was the best ever.

And is it just me or when he was batman and disguising his voice did he sound kinda like Nathan Explosion?

I want to see this movie in the movie theater as well, but the way things are going at the moment I might have to wait for the DVD.

That's what I thought, but then everyone is saying I NEED to see this. So I WILL see it even if I need to clean out the penny jar for money. Gas went down 15 cents the last week, so maybe its a good time to do it.

Saw it, <3'd it.

only two things were meh:

batman's far too deep to be comfortable voice
having to suspend my disbelief for two hours.

other than that, i felt this obligatory tugging sadness whenever joker appeared on the screen. And hanging on his every word, maybe shifted my bias.

feckin loved it!!!

Love it

BUT

As wonderful as Ledger is, he's no Jack Nicholson.

I will say that the "Dark Knight" theme of this and Batman Begins is much better overall. More "realistic" and not cartoony or campy. But even though it was campy, nothing can top Nicholson's Joker. Maybe it was the eyes, maybe the laugh, whatever it was, Jack's Joker was just plain crazier.

Crazier, yeah, and more cartoony. But that cartoony over-acting makes it less threatening and far less creepy. I was creeped out by Ledger's performance because it just seemed too real.

So, who's going to be the villian in the next one? They've been saying from the start that they've wanted to do a trilogy, so what do you think it will be about?
They can't do "Dark Knight Returns" unless they lose Christian Bale, which would be a very bad thing.
They can't have the Joker either, which means no remake of The Killing Joke, which would have been awesome.
We heard batgirl on the phone in this one so she may join in, but I doubt it because Chris Nolan doesn't seem to want a sidekick.
He also hates the Penguin, so not him.
Catwoman? Or has Halle Berry made people so wary of Catwoman that it would put people off the film?
The Riddler? Too campy?

I think there's a chance at The Riddler, I agree that doing the Penguin would completely shatter their realistic non cartoon approach. I think they could handle Catwoman too, apparently Hollywood figures if a movie is bad enough, it can be remade within the decade *coughHULKcough*. I'm guessing Twoface isn't done with, so doing the same Riddler/Twoface combo as Batman Returns would make sense.

I LOVED Heath's role. LOVED it. I couldn't believe the mannerism he took. And, the "Look, I can make this pencil disappear!" trick had me roaring.

However, some of the scripting was a bit over the top. I've never cried at a theatre movie before, but I started full out sobbing when Two-Face had a hold of the Commissioner's son. They really shouldn't do that in movies. Either that or I need to stop seeing them. It was rather embarassing.

Also, what the hell is up with all the blue-and-white flashy scenes in today's movies? Gives me a goddamn migrane.

I was just floored at how such a "nice young man" could make my skin crawl. And he made me feel dirty for laughing as hard as I did but wow, talk about dark humor with such great comedic timing lol.
