They did some Dungeons & Dragons thing once, too, that looked great in previews and sucked so bad I couldn't finish watching it.

They love to pick up old B-grade horror flicks, and they must have bought the Doom franchise the way they've been showing it so much. If it weren't for Battlestar Galactica, I'm not sure why I'd ever watch SFC.

I enjoyed The Dresden Files, and "Eureka" was pretty entertaining but the rest of their programming has been decidedly lame for the most part.

Ok, the final episode is tonight. I probably won't get to watch it until later (DVRing it), but I believe I have the plot resolution all figured out. I know how it's going to end.

Anyone else have the plot figured by now? Last night gave some major clues -- I could probably write tonight's episode. I'd post my guess but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

I got baked last night and ordered chinese and sat down and watched it. Altho the food was better than the show I must say I was entertained through its entirety. Of course now I have to watch tonight otherwise I'm never gonna be able to live with myself not knowing what happens.

It *was* better last night. We got to see them escape from the tower and the plot twisted quite a bit in a way that can way develop the Dorothy character through the final episode.

The world still needs some work though. They tend to explain things to her using terminology and ideas from this realm as comparisons. That's a cheap out when they could just as easily add to our knowledge of their realm by keeping everything in context and forcing us to think it through.

*spoiler alert* Don't read if you haven't see it.

I give it a 6-7 out of 10. It is a decent idea but too hokey. I also thought there were way too many Earth/American references like the Tin Man being a sheriff with a star badge and all, plus he wore attire right out of any spaghetti western, (trench coat, cowboy hat, revolver with holster). How can another world have a perfect replica of a 1900s era revolver as a weapon??? They also didn't explain how he went into the house 7 years later to find a sharp razer and freshly laundered clothing. It also bothered me that they didn't explain why everyone spoke English.

DG didn't seem all that broken up to me either when told the only parents she knew were robots. I'd have freaked out personally. For that matter she wasn't all that upset upon seeing the midgets with wings upon figuring out she wasn't on Earth yet. She just didn't ask very many questions.

Overall, they did a really poor job of setting up the premise and execution wasn't all that great either but nice special effects and moderately interesting story line.

I am a big Galactica fan, this isn''t even close to the quality of Glalactia... or Dresdin Files for that matter, another one I like.

Well, I've watched half of the first episode.
I like some of it, some of the visuals are nice and ideas.

I hate how Oz has become "The Oh Zee" (trying to get trendy points from The OC?) because it sounds so childish. What was wrong with calling it Oz?
Glitch irritates me and the main actress has such a vacant expression all of the time, I am sure she's the one in search of a brain - I've never seen anyone walk around and never show any sign of a thought going through their head, until now.

I'll try to watch the 2nd half of the first one tonight, but it's a struggle

"The O.Z." didn't bother me because of that reason, it was more that *everyone* called it "The O.Z." There wasn't a single person who regularly called it "The Outer Zone." It's just an odd quirk that annoyed me a bit. You'd think the king and queen wouldn't use acronyms when talking about their kingdom...

No kidding. I'm not real glad I spent 6 hours of my life watching now, quite frankly. Predictable ending, flat, predictable characters and corny dialog.

I don't normally mind corny dialog if there's something else to entertain me. Like maybe big explosions or hot sweaty simulated sex. Or both.

I hated it so far.

Only saw the first episode and that took me three nights to get through it. I don't have the guts to try episodes 2 and 3.

It's like they didn't know what kind of movie they wanted to make. Quick and witty for the kids? Dark and suspenseful for the adults? What?

The tin man twisting the ears of whoever that was ... was that supposed to be funny? Pretty deadpan delivery if it was, a bit dark too. Glitch hanging up in the cage with DG .. "Oh they thought it would be fun to leave me (hahaha?) hanging around" ..wtf? bad delivery for a funny line.

DG .. act much? Obviously not Thorazine girl.

Raw ... What? Seriously .. What?

The scene in the palace when the evil witch or whatever captures them with the flying monkeys things took FOOOORRREEEVVVEERRR!!!!

Who the fuck edited THAT scene?? It felt like it went on for 15 minutes.

"DG, we're not your real parents, we're robots and your entire life up to now has been a lie"

"Oh gee, that's a bummer or something I guess"

The Wizard? > WTF?? What? What? Wait, what? A lounge act? What?

In all, the single redeeming thing is the actor who plays the tin man. He can ACT!! And it looks like he tried to actually do his JOB!!

I just can't watch the other 2 episodes.

I hated it.

Let me also add, I'm a huge fan of Zoey and her dark hair, blue eyes, and quirky laidback style of acting.

I'm also a fan of sci-fi and fantasy.

From the very opening sequence...I knew I was doomed. The entire show plays out like a sci-fi geeks wet dream. It was horrible. With the budget they had they could have made much more realistic set pieces and wardrobe. Some of the metal on the characters armor was clearly painted plastic.

The acting was horrible...even Zoey looked like an amateur--I partially blame the script...hell, the script sucks.

I didn't even get much past her initial teleportation to 'Oz.' It was THAT hard to watch Zoey drowned like that.

1 out of 5 stars. Boo.

I have to say that I loved it. It will be shown again(the whole thing) on Sunday.

One bad thing though, I don't think I'll ever get "Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon" to get in sync with it.

Okay I finally just watched part one.

I don't think it's abysmal, even though I did have high hopes. But this is Sci-fi, which tends to churn out the worst movies possible. To the point that I wonder if it's intentional almost.

The acting left a bit to be desired but it was interesting. Though continually calling it the "O.Z." was annoying.

I love Sci Fi (Not Sci Fantasy which Tin Man is, or Horror) and that was not Sci Fi at all. I may not bother watching part 2 or 3.

I meant Sci-fi as in the name of the channel, not the genre. Sci-fi the channel produces some of the worst made-for-TV movies evaR.

I've gotten through the 1st episode and 1/2 of the 2nd episode, and so far I think it's an interesting twist on the whole OZ thing - although the only thing it has in common with the original story ( the books, or the Judy Garland movie ), are distant and distorted references to a few of the original characters.

Let's face it, this is a "made for Sci-Fi" mini-series. Since I'm not expecting any great acting, plot, or anything else that makes a good movie, I can watch it for it's entertainment alone (interesting scenery and architecture, and the wicked sister really does come across as wicked). Based on that, I think it's pretty interesting so far.

Overall, I'd say it's slightly better than the average "made for Sci-Fi" fare. So, based on that, I'd give it a C+ or a low B-.
