Paranormal Activity

Has anyone seen Paranormal Activity yet? I have not wanted to see a movie this badly in a long time.

There was a free screening in my neck of the woods awhile back and I signed up for it. But I was hungover and a little terrified by the time it rolled around and I chickened out. I still want to see it but maybe at a time when I don't have to go to bed right away after
Info about screenings!

Quote:
The news of a wider release for the movie comes after a second weekend of sold-out midnight screenings that earned the movie an average of $16,000 per screen. The all-day screenings at 40 locations is much smaller than the rumored 100 location number, but consider the buzz that the movie's currently getting from being relatively difficult to see, and be patient.

It's nice to see something original come from the horror genre. Sounds and looks like this brings a new dimension to what the creators of Blair Witch intended.

I reserve judgment until I see for myself, however. I was once told that Saw was the be-all end-all of horror movies, after all.

I have never seen any of the Saw movies, and I know number six is about to come out, but thankfully the era of the torture porn genre of horror movies seems to be passing, and not a moment too soon.

I saw the first 3, and just could not watch them beyond that. We actually started Saw IV one night, and turned it off about 10 minutes into it. I like good, scarey movies.......nothing but blood and gore is not a good horror movie, in my mind.

I'm looking forward to Paranormal Activity, but will probably just end up watching it whenever Netflix gets it in.

Rotten Tomatoes gave it an 84%. Not bad. I think I'll catch this one.

I saw it last week; excellent movie -- very creepy! Zombieland was hilarious too.

My friend Brett is pretty unflappable when it comes to gross, scary or fucked-up things -- he reads Encyclopedia Dramatica articles for fun -- but he was terrified to even go to bed after he watched it. He said he was close to pissing himself.

So, I definitely won't be seeing it.

I was actually REALLY spooked for the first 1/2 hour of the movie when I was feeling nothing but nervous anticipation. But as soon as "stuff" started "happening" I lost all suspension of disbelief and it just wasn't all that scary for me.

But take that with a grain of salt because I'm a tough audience to rattle with horror movies (The Exorcist is pretty much the only movie that ever really scared me.)

I can't wait.

I HATE going to the cinema with a passion comparable to religious fundamentalism (something to do with queues, other people, body odour and battery farming) BUT come 27th November when it arrives in the UK I shall be waiting in line.

I shall allow myself to be herded like a distressed bovine into my pen (for which I have paid handsomely) where I will try not to make an issue of it when the smelly animal in the next pen crunches on his feed popcorn and slurps his way through a mega sized soft drink. I shall try my best not to show any displeasure when sundry limbs prod and poke me from all directions as the other animals nervously shuffle and shift in their own pens.

I will even keep my big mouth shut when some of the alpha males feel the need to assert their dominance by bellowing loudly and often in an attempt to let all the other animals know they are there and that we should pay attention to them. I will not even raise an eyebrow when inevitably a couple of the animals in the pens directly in front of my own become confused by the dim lighting and imagine they are in some way obligated to mate.

I want to see this film THAT much

I'm intrigued by this movie and tempted to try and watch it, though I just KNOW that I will end up behind the sofa.
