Oh, and I like these ads. But those Mojave ads? Strange.

Go check out the website, and look at the video clips. Those people are idiots.

I must say I quite don't understand why it matters so much which OS you use. There's something for everybody and people opt for different stuff, without making this or that better or worse.

I'm a mac users for decades, but lately I'm deeply unsatisfied with them. And wanna know why? Because they're a huge company and all that matters is profit. Just like Microsoft or any other big company

And what's with that big circus around the iPhone: people waiting in lines, no phones in the stores, nada in ATT stores, oh so pathetic. Like they couldn't supply the demand? More like they want the hype, the lines, etc. And unfortunately people fall for it. No company, no matter how cool their product is, will make me stand 3 hours in line to buy whatever it is they're selling. No way. <---sorry, had to get it out of my chest.

Haha priceless, I love MST3K!

I really like the idea that they came out with an ad, that instead of just trashing mac, they tried to get one up on them. I like the standpoint they made.

I used macs all through school, and childhood, and did like them however my first bought computer was a PC. I guess because of the price.. I could never really afford the extra $$ for a mac.

I now run vista on an asus.. and I kinda have to agree with a past mac ad.. the constant asking for permission to do anything twenty billion times over, does get annoying... but i do love my windows

The asking for permission to do things can be turned off. That ad failed to mention it of course. Which shows that the ads tell half truths and sometimes very wrong statements or things that only happens to a very small amount of people.

Microsoft's hamfisted ads are almost saying to Apple, "nuh-uh, my mom thinks I'm cool" while the image of Hodgman's frumpy PC is hard to shake and makes Windows seem lame without being overly insulting about it.

The asking for permission shit can be turned off in the control panel. God forbid people actually look at their operating system and figure out shit!

Funny how people are so emotionally invested in their platforms. It's sort of like being a strong advocate for Craftsman wrenches or something.

I used both PCs and Macs on my previous job. AWS is now all PCs and it's is my platform of choice. It just happened to work out that way. It could have just as easily been Mac. PCs work great for me, I can build em cheap and I don't have trouble with em (short of my aged and heavily abused laptop, may it rest in peace.)

I'd switch to Macs if there were a benefit to justify the cost of transition, but I haven't seen those benefits. Though I do admit, Apple has NAILED the really sharp, aesthetic form factor and the hip marketing.

I like my PC but I wouldn't mind being the cool people in the Mac ads.

The guy in the US Apple ads does not look in the least bit cool - just looks like a dropout from uni and comes across as a little stoned.
Not as stoned as Ellen Feis, of course!

I don't think there was such an issue about which OS you used until Apple started slagging off Microsoft, and I don't just mean in the Mac vs PC ads.

Anyways, to me, Apple's ads just say "want to be an unsuccessful stoner? buy Apple. You'll hang yourself before you're 30."

and just to post a video

If Microsoft focused on the positives of Windows, they wouldn't need to use ideas from Apple to advertise:

You don't have to be rich to use Windows.

You can build a decent machine for about $400 that can run most applications and many games, and you can also upgrade it later (unless you are using a 32 bit version of Windows which can only handle 3gb of ram)

The only new Mac you can get for $600 is a Mini, you can't get ANY sort of new Mac for under $600, and that only has 1gb of ram and a slow 5400 rpm drive that NO Apple customer service representative or technical support agent can tell you what the cache on the drive is--and you can either void the warranty by putting in more ram or pay $200 for 2 gigs of ram. If you want a Mac that you can <GASP> actually replace the video card, you have to spend at least $2,700 unless you want something at least 2 years old.

You can keep getting Windows updates for free and they don't charge $150 for dot releases or service packs.

Microsoft has hundreds of times more titles available for it than the mac.

I prefer Macs over Windows machines, but that's because I don't really play games that much anymore and generally use my computer to create graphics and music. I don't have a mac because I'm poor and would rather not pay good money for a Mac that is only as powerful as something that would be considered totally obsolete if it ran Windows.

I'm not one to hate something just because it is a mega-success. I have no time for such jealousy.

In nearly 15 years, I've never seen a BSOD, never was forced to reformat and have had very little problems with a Microsoft product. Except IE, I hate IE.
