Wow, this looks like it might be the worst show ever conceived:

Words fail me, but it is a must-see like a train wreck or Maury Povich.

I'll have to watch a few before before saying that. I think a lot of people thought the first one was going to be bad before it came out and it was popular til they changed too much.

I watched the pilot. It was OK. Nothing awesome, nothing horrible. What annoyed me was they had the perfect voice for KITT but they had to let him go because of some stupid contractual conflict. Who'd they replace him with?

Val Kilmer.

And yeah, I like the car design too. If the show can keep that cheesy-but-entertaining feel that the original had, I'll probably keep watching it. It's a fine line though.

I think they jumped the shark when KITT had all those pop-out pursuit mode thingies. I mean air brakes that small are ineffective even at his top speeds (season 5).

The new "voice modulator" (patterned after KARR's) and new display graphics was a good move (season 4?).

It's a Ford Mustang, that's all you need to know. And there was already a made for TV movie last spring with this cast etc.

I am waiting for the Krik v.s. Picard arguments or in this case K.I.T.T. vs. K.I.T.T. 2008

The new car is nice but I like the original K.I.T.T.

Don't forget about KITT 2000, from the movie. And there was actually another Knight Rider show a few years ago with multiple cars. That one was utter crap of course.

The hero waking up in bed with TWO women sleeping.

And a Lesbian Cop with her lover she had evidently recently picked up shown in bed while she was getting ready.

Thats a bit risque even for 2000's TV lol.

And the original was great television? I'll admit to watching the original, but it too was stupidly flawed. It was bad, but not so bad. It was watchable.

The one thing I was ok with in the original series was that the original KITT was fairly conservative in design. It was nearly identical to a stock Firebird, except for the extra lighting and the ridiculous steering wheel. It actually makes sense to keep the look simple. Storywise, the car could blend in and mullet headed, greasy medallion wearing Trans Am fanboys would leave it alone. I saw the pilot a few months ago, and the look of the car was ok. Now, for the series, they added this horrible looking thing. They took a perfectly ok looking car and handed it over to a design staff of 14 year olds. It looks like something a kid would scribble in their notebooks during detention.

The original was pretty bad, but all TV back then was horribly bad, and I was in fourth grade!

They should do better in 2008.

The other horrible show was TEAM KNIGHT RIDER. YIKES!

If you saw the trailer you'll know that it transforms from an almost normal-looking Mustang, to that attack mode (the pic), and into a pickup.

The "ordinary" mode looks like just any other modded street racer. With all the bling neon lights street racers use, the red scanner lights will blend in just fine.

The original series was flawed all over ... but damn guilty fun.

Ok, I have seen the trailer. This series is gonna really make people suspend their belief for an hour or so.

I saw the truck to Mustang transformation. Someone please explain how this car passed two people through its innards and placed them correctly in the driver and front passenger seats? Yeah, they made up some bs about nanotechnology in the pilot, but a total structural change really strains plausibility. What happens when the passenger is a tall dude or a 400 pound fat guy? Does KITT choke on the fat guy and require the Heimlich Maneuver? Granted this is just television, but you just don't jump the shark right from the beginning.
