I guessed the ending after 5 mins - but then I'd seen a movie with exactly the same twist (I've mentioned it in one of my posts to this thread, but won't say which film it was because it will spoil it for you if you watch it after knowing the twist)

Casablanca. Its TOTALLY in a class all by itself. The symbolism is probably lost onmost people, but its wonderful nonetheless.

Haha, this is kind of weird, but Bruce Willis' wardrobe gave it away for me fairly early on - he was always wearing some version of the same pieces - and the fact that no one who was supposed to talking to him ever actually looked at him just supported my suspicion.

Does the fact that I paid that much attention to clothes make me shallow?

No reference to Pan's Labyrinth yet? For shame.

I was disappointed in that movie, but I think it's because it was marketed with more emphasis on the 'fantasy' aspect than it should have been.

No one stab me! I thought it was great, it just wasn't what I expected.

Did anyone mention MirrorMask?

Oh I loved the end to Mirrormask, that's one of my happy movies. After she comes back and life returns more to normal, she meets the juggler out in the real world

The end of Pan's is a bit of a spoiler, so I'll just say "she finally manages to escape"

Pan's Labyrinth was such a beautifully done movie but the ending was a bit of a let-down because it's the only way that the backstory and loose ends would come together, so it was obvious where it was headed all along.

It was still handled wonderfully, though.

I adored Pan's Labyrinth, The Orphanage, and The Devil's Backbone. I think Guillermo del Toro just has a great talent for endings, because all of those movies are gorgeous (The Devil's Backbone is especially frightening for me, but with a surprisingly uplifting and beautiful ending). He sure knows how to live in the basement.

I really enjoyed the Ocean's Eleven ending.
