Heya Zaida guess what? The Lone Gunmen are gonna be in it. How is that possible, you ask? Well, read the article.

Episode 1 is tonight! At 7ET, and apparently replaying tomorrow at 8.

Glad they're replaying it The Fox website says tonight is "part 1" and tomorrow night is "part 2" of the premiere. It doesn't look like they're replaying the same episode.

it looks from here like the whole goddamn show will be pre-empted by NFL POST GAME. Not even the real game, the POST game!

I'm glad I have DVR. I may have to set it to record 4 hours over, but by the gods I will watch this show!!!

The ads are promising the whole episode begins after the post-game show.

It had better.

They've been saying that all fucking day. They don't tell you that the post-game can go on indefinitely as long as a bunch of washed-up has-beens are holding mics and telling stories about the old days.

At least they put a timer up on the screen so we have something to watch while tapping our feet.

I see why the reviews of Ep 1 were mediocre, but honestly I loved it, maybe even more than I should have.

They had to backfill the storyline a little from the original series, but in the next-to-last scene when Scully told Muldar about the DNA test, I thought it was very powerful!

I want to binge-watch the rest of the season tonight!

My favorite, of course, was the very very final scene, when my boy is all like "We have a problem...the X-files have been reopened" and takes a drag through his stoma. ^^

I do have one question that came to mind towards the end of the episode:

"O'Malley" is doing his full-on paranoid rant on a world wide conspiracy, and it was so powerful I felt myself getting swept into the drama. Then I thought "If some delusional paranoid is watching, what's this going to do to him?"

I personally know a couple. One believes totally in contrails and mind control. The other is positive that Obama is still planning to use FEMA camps to round up all the gun owners.

They have to stretch it out so that everyone who bought a commercial gets their ad time in. It's the most boring thing in the freaking world, too.

I never watched the series in the first place, but R. was so much a fan he has the X-Files "X" tattooed on his arm. (seriously. ) He thought it was "ok."

I thought something very similar...but then it occurred to me, that the grand rapturous explanation hasn't actually added anything that those folks don't already believe in anyway.

Being that this is Episode 1, and being The X-Files, I would not be very surprised if "O'Malley"'s grand theory turns out to be completely wrong in the end though. Or even if O'Malley himself ends up being more than he seems... ^^

Fortunately I saw it was after a fooseball game so added a half an hour .... and needed it. For once I would love for them to keep sports to their scheduled amount of time. Or if they go over take it out of the pointless 'post game show'.

Sure I will watch all of it but it has changed, at least based on the first ep with the conservative whackadoodle. It seemed closer to faux 'news' than to fox entertainment.

I was a major fan girl of the "original" X-Files (not to mention of Mulder as well).
I just saw it on Fox Streaming. "Good" or not is subjective. But I enjoyed every second of it.

I hope the fucking Panthers get creamed in the Superbowl just because they delayed the start of the X-Files. Heck, I hope the quarterback breaks his arm (okay not really).

Mulder and Scully look old. Scully looks like she's been the victim of some really bad plastic surgery.

When do I get to see my Lone Gunmen?

In the flashback scenes with their child they looked mush better. I am assuming that was not old footage (or was it) so obviously they can make them look better while also older. Why they chose not to ...

I am not sure if it was so with the x-files but some shows that get pre-empted/delayed have it done worse to them. Like not having a second showing to record so you have to hope it comes out in streaming or whatever in a few years.

Those weren't flashbacks, they were what-ifs. Dana gave William up for adoption as an infant to protect him, and neither she nor Mulder have seen him since.

She's wearing a wig. I think it's warping her hairline/forehead somewhat. And she does look better in the second episode.
