| Junior Member ![]() | Im running Windows Vista 64 bit. When I start up Second Life a window pops up saying that SLVoice.exe couldnt run and windows shut it down. Im not sure it a security issue or if its the fact im running 64 bit. Any advice?

I'd make sure a Firewall exception exists for SLVoice first. Click the Vista button > Control Panel, then the "Allow a program through Windows Firewall" hyperlink. In the Window that pops up, click the Exceptions tab, and make sure any entries for SLVoice are ticked. If it still crashes, you could try running SLVoice in XP Compatibility mode: 1. Click Vista button > Computer > C: > Program Files (x86) > Second Life. 2. Right click SLVoice icon, click Properties, and on the Compatibility tab, "Run this program in compatibility mode for" (tick) > Windows XP Service Pack 2. Well, "he" (owner of the computer?) does have a sound card *somewhere* or he wouldn't be able to hear sound. I'll assume he's got a USB headset -- all of which have a built-in sound card (or rather, audio chipset). If I'm right, has he tried getting the latest drivers for the USB headset? | |
