Business: Brazen Women Shapes and Skins Client: v3 + Starlight | Need help with Search & Profile display I've posted here before in hopes that someone can provide a fix; trying again because this viewer problem is really crippling. Back when LL first introduced the new web-based Profiles, I had very poor performance. I'd click on a Profile link and only about every other attempt would (very very slowly) pull up a Profile. If I kept trying, eventually I'd get it. But a few months back Profile stopped working entirely, and what's worse, Search doesn't work either. What happens: I click on the link for Search or Profile, and a new shiny white and completely blank window opens. After about 10-20 seconds, the window turns grey. My viewer: I only use the official viewer and this has happened on every version of the viewer for at least a year now. The only thing that has changed as I update viewers is that the % chance of getting a connection keeps dropping. Preferences: I've tried checking Built-in browser and Own browser. I've set it for Unlimited browser windows and limited browser windows. Setting changes don't appear to make any difference. In all other respects my SL performance is pretty good, certainly much better than many people report. I don't suffer unduly from lag, I don't crash often, all in all I have a decent "user experience" except for Profile/Search displays. I'm thinking this has to be some kind of Preference setting that I'm just not familiar with, even a Debug? Help! |

Sweeter than sweets
| I believe that slplugin.exe is essential for the viewer's internal web browsing to work...if you have a firewall, see whether it has full permissions to access the Internet. I regret that is all I can think of for the moment... |

Business: Brazen Women Shapes and Skins Client: v3 + Starlight | I have no clue how to do that, but I'll poke around and see if I can figure it out. Thank you. |

Client: Always changing, and too lazy to edit. | It's also possible the web cache for the viewer has become corrupted. I'm not sure this gets cleared between viewer upgrades, so best to try clearing it manually. Delete the contents of both of these folders: C:\Users\[Computer Account Name]\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\browser_profile\cache C:\Users\[Computer Account Name]\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\[SL Account Name]\browser_profile\cache Then log in and try search. Hope it helps. |
