Avatar won't Rez

For two days now, every time I login regardless whether it's on the SL viewer or Phoenix my avatar looks like Ruth without clothes. Only thing that rezzes is the hair.

It won't let me go into Appearance and, it won't let me put on any clothing, shape, skin, etc. I get the standard message "Your clothing is still downloading. You can use Second Life normally and other users will see you correctly." However, when I ask others what I look like, they say I look like a cloud.

Here's the frustrating part. I can't go into Appearance mode, I can't add any clothing, skins, shapes, etc. Every time I attempt to add clothing from my inventory, another message pops up saying "Can't change appearance until clothing and shape are loaded." What's up with that?

I hope one of you knowledgeable people in here can help me with this. Thanks in advance.

advanced -> character -> character test -> test male

Afterwards you'll have to attach everything you wanted to wear again, but it should get you out of that issue.

when character test dont work :

When an AV is ruthed......
If you have tried edit appearance, tried to use one of those preset AV from Library, rebake, clear cache, reload inventory and even tried a character test AND all of the above FAILI!!!

You might notice the following symptoms:
a) Not able to wear anything from your invent,
b) Not able to accept inventory items from anyone,
c) you cannot change shape,

Simply follow these steps:

* Clear all cache manually. Go into preferences, under NETWORK AND FOLDER tab, you will see the cache destination directory.

* Log off and back into WELS or SULU sim. Make sure you let your inventory load up fully first! (very important) You can speed it up by typing ****** in the search bar

* Right-click your avatar take off all attatchments and all clothes,

* Then make a NEW folder in your inventory.

* Go to library folder now and opent the folder named "girl next door or boy next door by adam and eve", then copy all the items in it.

* Paste it into the NEW folder you have created in the inventory section,

* now right click the folder and select "replace outfit"

* then hold on to ctrl+alt+R to "rebake textures"

Now you can wear back your original shape and clothes Take care and have fun!

I tried doing everything the SL wiki said and then put in a support ticket because of the same issue. I have been waiting two days to hear back from Linden support and then just happened to find this thread.

Following the "Character Test" process worked for me too!!!!

I do not understand why they haven't added this as a possible solution in the wiki.

In any case, thank you so very much Chalice!

Thanks, xamii! I was kind of at wit's end until I followed your advice, and now my avatar is back to normal.

I have this problem with multiple tattoo layers, taking them off has always fixed it, then they can be added back in.
