| Just noticed that I got BINGed after installing the last Windows (Vista) Update. ![]() When you enter a search term in the URL of your browser (Firefox here) your preferences for search-engines are used to search for the word(s) and present a list of URLs. This now always goes through Microsoft's "Bing", totally ignoring my search settings . Messing with user-settings sure is one way to create "relevance" for your product. The interesting thing is that it is not apparent when you open your search preferences, and seems immune against anything you set up there. Bing doesn't even show as an option, but every search I do is now directed to it. ![]() Any idea how to fix that? |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 08-19-2003 | I use Firefox and when I do a search, I use the box in the upper right corner, where you can choose to use Google, Yahoo, Amazon.com, Answers.com among others. I hadn't noticed this when entering URL's, at least not on my home computer. However, I did have this happen when using IE at work the other day, which was kind of weird. I hadn't ever heard of Bing before last week and now it's everywhere.
