Blocking a website

I'm trying to block ib.adnxs.com from loading on my browser (Firefox) and I'm just about going crazy. Any suggestions?

Block it in your hosts file?

Fpweb.net Support - Editing Your Host File

That guide is for something else entirely, but you can use the same method to add the site to the list.

In your case the IP you want to block should be 8.12.226.201

But there's also two nserver IPs you can add for safe measure:

Adnxs.com - Adn X s

In blocking the appnexus nameservers you are potentially blocking yourself from resolving any website hosted on the appnexus service, not just adnexus. Really, your best bet is to just block the adnexus domain using the hosts file. Some routers also offer builtin tools for filtering hostnames (and IP ranges, but an IP address is more likely to change in the future while retaining the original hostname)
