Sooz, I like MAC, although I prefer their liquid foundation. Here's what I do to get good coverage- I use a concealer to hide my problem areas first. Next I put on the foundation- currently I'm using the Studio Sculpt foundation and concealer. I don't use a lot of foundation though- all I do is put a dot on my forehead, chin, and cheeks. Then I take my blending brush (I have a basic set of brushes from Sephora) and blend it all together until I can't see the concealer anymore. The coverage is flawless and even this makeup noob can get a good look.

Youtube makeup tutorials are my crack. Michelle Phan (the girl in the video Lo posted) has a lot of great tutorials for DIY beauty tips- here's one she did on how to make paper bag curls:

Here are some other great makeup artists on youtube:

(for some reason, this poor girl seems to attract a lot of internet crazies)

/me resists the urge to visit sephora.com...

Excellent tips!! I really liked the idea of using a Q tip while applying the eye liner.

ELF brushes are only a buck and work just as well as the high end ones I own, although I'll admit that brushes I use the most are in my Kat Von D Brush set. And I totally bought it because I love Kat Von D and the packaging is GORGEOUS!

Found this one by accident tonight. It teaches you how to repair broken eyeshadow cakes. I have a few I've broken that leak powder in my make up case but I love to much to throw away I'm going to try it on.
