Euro 2012

Well Russia looked bloody good, everyone else so far has looked decidedly average, Poland ran out of steam, Greece were Greece, Holland lost their way completely against Denmark.

Looking forward to Germany v Portugal.

England and France both looked completely bereft of any flair.

6 minutes 2-0. Ok back to work this is over. Their football deficit is trying to keep up with their fiscal one.

Ireland would have had a much better tournament had they realised the game had started in both games they've played in, and each half for that matter!

We'd do better if we had world class talent in our team. we don't.

True Richie, they don't have a Paul McGrath, but Shay Given doesn't look right, I watched him for a lot of last season playing for Villa and he looks a little off the pace, I don't know if he's injured.

Ireland's strength in qualifying was some heroic defending, against Spain it was always going to be a big ask, it's the Croatia game that really cost them.

England in entertaining game shocker! That's going to annoy some of the media.

It might have been entertaining for you but it took several years off my life.
Good to see the two forwards scoring though and hopefully Walcott proved tonight that we need his pace, They should charge Milner admission if he gets another game.

This might not be the national team of the old days, the so called "golden generation" but we had on this Euro one of toughest groups ever in our history and we survived...

Also i would like to thank Schweinsteiger (or whatever it is spelled) and that "pinnacle of humbleness "called Oliver Kahn for "motivating" Cristiano Ronaldo. He couldn't have done it with you...

Thank you, Germany players, for going to the dutch locker room saying that they "would" help them today.

Sure...we dive...but at least we respect other teams...

Ronaldo waking up and actually performing makes this a very interesting tournament, I fancy Portugal to reach the semis and if Ronaldo carries on playing like he did against Holland, they might well win it.

This is a very odd tournament, England win their group without looking very good whereas Russia go out, despite having largely looked very good.

However I can still recall the 1982 world cup where the best team I've ever seen in my life in the shape of Brazil, were knocked out by Italy, whom then themselves became pretty damn awesome after looking decidedly ordinary until the Brazil game.

Spain haven't been that convincing, nor have France. Germany, well it's Germany, they always seem to be able to get results.

However, I'm starting to get more and more a feeling that this could be Portugal's year.

I hope not.
Not for Portuguese people in general whom I appreciate and I'd be very happy for them, but I can't stand that cocky, bighead and spoiled Cristiano Ronaldo. Fuck him.

4 guys go to a pub in the Eurocup. A Spanish supporter, a Greek, an Irish and a Portuguese one.

The barman says, "4 glasses of water, I guess"

As opposed to the cockyness of Schweinsteiger??

Robben???

Ibrahimovic?

And lets not forget Balotelli...the "genius that no one understands"...according to his own words.

Compared to the previous examples...Ronaldo is a monk :-P

At least Ronaldo has this year's season to back it up....

Honestly i am not that sure we can pass Cech Republic...

It really is 50/50...

If that keeper of theirs is in a super day ...no ball will go in...

As for Portugal...even in a yes day we suffer goals and struggle to score them...

No doubt he has been able to make some changes to his preparation routine since getting his own dressing room away from the other rowdy players.

I really hate that video replays are still not used on ghost goal type decisions. It ruins it for everyone since WE CAN ALL SEE with our own frickin' eyes...

And if any of you disagree with me, well we can just step out for a mano-a-mano 'man talk'.

Not as funny as

An Irish man an Italian and a Spaniard walk into the pub and the barman asks who buying. the German, they answer.

the reality:

Quote:
Tourism chief Jan Mazurczak paid tribute to the Green Army, crediting them for putting the Polish town on the map.

He gushed: “We want to thank the Irish people for putting Poznan on the map. We will be eternally grateful.

“Our city is on televisions all over the world and that is because of you.

“Yes they spent a lot of money, an awful lot of money, but it is more than that to us. The world can now see Poznan and all thanks to Ireland.”

Conservative estimates by city officials suggest the average fan spent €200 a day.

And considering there were 30,000 here on match days and either one day before or after, they are looking at a bonanza of at least €24million.

Well Portugal were worthy winners against Czech Republic but they don't half make it difficult for themselves by missing so many chances.
