Boston will get healthy and start gaining momentum just as the playoffs start, making them the first team to repeat since the 97-98 Red Wings.

Of course I'm pulling for the hometown Canucks with either the Rangers or Bruins in the finals.

Canucks - West
Rangers - East

The darkhorse pick would be Nashville. They are made some very nice moves at the deadline

Honestly, there's a lot of parity with 6-8 teams that could legitimately win it all

Rangers-Canucks would be fun.

Everything's still too up-in-the-air to make a prediction yet, I think.

As much as I'd like to say Boston to win, I just don't think they have the heart to rip it up for another post season. I'm not sure they are hungry enough at the moment.
They certainly have the talent, which they showed in the first half of the season. They have the majority of players from last season, but with more seasoning under their belts. I suspect the second half lull that I have seen is most likely due to boredom and the rigors of a long season.

But with Tuuka going down as well as a couple of other key players I'm not going to count on them going the full distance.

I don't think Vancouver's got the tenacity to go another full post season, unless the Sedin brothers start showing some spine. I still see too many cheap shots from that team to think that they have what it takes to go all the way.

I'm gonna say the Rangers win it.

My heart says Bruins but my brain says Rangers.

I dunno, it's going to be pretty hard to get around St Loius this season. Weird times we live in.

I like when they change color and fall out of trees instead of play-offs.

Cheap shots? Really? Coming from a Boston fan that's hilarious. The ironing is delicious. Take off the homer glasses

I can't view the vids here at work.

Do they include Horton getting blindsided and taken out of the series?

Or how about when Burrows bit Bergerons finger?

Both last season and yes, they are both in the videos

Number of Canucks suspended this season = 0
Number of Bruins suspended this season = 3

Number of Bruins suspended for illegal action against Canucks = 1
Number of suspensions league wide for illegal action against the Canucks = 5

Looks to me like there's only one team on that list taking cheap shots this season and one being the victim of illegal action and victims of cheap shots.

I realize it's cool to hate on the Canucks these days, call them cheap and divers etc but when they've had nobody suspended all season and being on the receiving end of 5 suspensions this season, how do they rank as being cheap shot artists? Seriously.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Bruins just fine and last year the better team in the finals won. The series should have been over in 5-6 games maybe even a sweep, but calling the Canucks cheap this year? It's nothing but ridiculous hype and bullshit. Stats don't lie

The Flyers / Penguins series is going to be a total blood bath after last night.

ok, but keep in mind that the team that wins the Stanley Cup is always in the "team to beat" and to "measure up to" the following season. For that reason, the Bruins have had teams going at them hardcore all season. That might explain the suspensions that they incurred...which was more of a way of them defending their turf.

That's very possible and you'd get no argument from me there. Everyone guns for the champ. Although to be fair Marchand is a dirty little prick no matter what time of year he plays.

I think it's the same for the Canucks. After the SCFs last year, everyone saw that you could try and push them around like Boston did and most likely get your way, especially shutting down the Sedins with physical play. Probably explains some of the suspensions that have happened against them as well but 5 is a lot for any team to suffer

Agreed. I think that might potentially be the best series all playoffs. That and the Wings/Preds. Both great first round matchups if they pan out that way with a few games left

Though "my" team--Blackhawks-- has clinched their spot, they aren't having the greatest season. My daughter is a diehard Pens fan and my wife, Sharks, but 2 out of 3 of us agree we glumly would put our money on the Blues.

Agreed...but you would love him if he was on your team.

Seriously though, I wonder if he plays like that because he is so small....and he has to play aggressively. Without that reputation of being a "dirty little prick", I bet teams would be pushing him around more. Sometime I watch him out there and he looks like a 12 year old zipping around with the big kids.
