Quickie feature request though. Any chance we'll see "real-life products" up there at all? The company I've worked with up in Tampa for the past year picked up an island and are selling our software in-world for cut rates. It'd be really handy to get the word out about that.

I'll spare you guys the shameless advert, other than to say I sold out, kinda. I'll put an ad up for it if that category's ever added.
As far as it looks to me you can sell anything really. Nothing's linked to any in-world systems beyond the SLURL link which doesn't even have to be that.

Unless you're thinking a specific "real world items" category? That could be cool.

Otherwise I think you can sell anything that involves SL and is payable in L$. Just replace the SLURL with a link to your website.

I was, yes.

We have the system set up in-world and would want people to take a quick pass at the sim to pick up the goods. That, and I like to support Cristo's stuff because he does a really nice job.

No, seriously. He does, and it would be a handy feature.

Thanks for the clarification, Cris. Will make some G-Rated preview pics for the line.

I can see from these photos that you have a healthy sense of fantasy and adventure and are not afraid to express yourself, whether it's your smoldering sensuality or your more playful side shining through. You are the type of woman who we men are delighted to spend time with, and secretly hope to be able to take it further. Based on these photos, I am giving you a 7.3 on the Trout Recreawhoosits Slut Rating Contraption. You are just shy of being a complete slut, but you clearly have one hiding within. So, congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut, but only in the best possible definition of the word.

Cris, have you considered splitting Hair and Jewelry up. The hair category will end up huge as designers not only have different styles but also numerous colors for each style. Jewelry and accessories will be fairly large as well as that encompasses a lot. There's not only regular jewelry but there's also gothic spike sets, hair accessories, hats and purses just for starters.

Wow I'm truly amazed at some of the views on the ads. There's a new one that has 73 already.
Cris is there a way that, like thread views on the forums that you can prevent bumping your own thread popularity that can be applled to the ads?

The SLU network actually gets a ridiculous amount of traffic; significantly more than Second Citizen actually. The bulk of it lies in Snapzilla I think; since I started running banner ads through it I've really been shocked at the traffic I've gotten. FIC put up a counter on SC some time back and even though the bunch there is chattier than through this forum, SLU actually gets like three times as much unique traffic.

I will see what I can do about preventing spoofing by hitting refresh - I'm also considering ranking by views altogther to keep things as even as possible and discourage that kind of behavior (not to mention the waste of bandwidth of someone refreshing over and over)

. As far as the numbers themselves though, what Josh was alluding to is right. The site overall is getting a huge amount of traffic (close to 900,000 visitors in June), so the view numbers will start to go up exponentially on the new site as it is filled with content (and also as it begins to be aggressively spidered as well).

The number of views on that particular ad did not surprise me at all - the same phenomenon happens on Snapzilla with similar pictures (skin is a huge draw).

Yes I will split them - I am open to suggestion on category arrangement - I just want to try to make stuff as accessible as possible, but proper classification is very important.

You actually also bring up a point that I am seeing happening already, and I'm not sure how to address it. People are posting the same item in multiple colors as different ads - why not post it as one ad showing the different colors it is in available in? To me that seems more efficient, as long as the price is the same and they are going to the same SLURL anyway to buy it.

That's a good question. In most cases my things are different not just different colors but I think the mindset comes from posting on SLB and SLEX where everything is listed separate

I put the men's Wolven Enbrace in Animations by mistake instead of men's clothing. I did try to edit and change the category but it told me I didn't have permission to do that. Can you move it for me when you get a chance Cris. I'm so sorry.

I'll leave my overall trees ad up forever and tweak it now and again. The fruit trees ad will probably stay in place as well because are always asking about them specifically. As new trees come out, I'll place a timed new release ad that can expire after a couple of weeks.

I don't feel it necessary to list every single tree in a separate ad. It sets me off a vendor when their ads occupy pages of search results. That seems more a lack of good sense, and general consideration, than a viable advertising scheme. But then, I'm a hobbiest and consumer more than a die hard profit seeker.

Cool stuff, however, my concern is the rating system.

I've seen that abused every which way to sunday. If it isn't people creating falsely negative reviews (easy to find a negative side to anything, especially in laggy/ buggy SL), it's sellers creating falsely positive reviews.

I'd like to see a system which keeps out the obvious fraudsters, but leaves everyone else drama free.
