Over the next week, SLU will be moving to a brand new server. I will try to keep downtime to a minimum, but there will be some. The transition will start as soon as the new server is available, I ordered it this evening and hopefully will begin the move within a day or two. Please bear with me during the transition.

For the curious, the site is moving from two single core Pentium processors with 2 gigs of ram and 120 gb of hd space and 1500gb of transfer to a server with 2 dual core processors with 8gb of ram and 1000gb of space and 5000gb of transfer. That will hopefully provide some breathing room for the next few years.

Dedicated - the current server is dedicated as well, it is just running two very high traffic features, and the processors are maxed out under the load.

In solidarity, I once dropped my pants for the entire duration a site was down while switching servers. I really don't think I can do that again. The sight even scares me! Maybe I'll just walk around with a tin-foil hat or something...
