I didn't know her that well, just what I read on the various forums. Will miss her in my own little way.

Loved that blue-helmeted forum avatar

I don't post here much, but for this, doesn't matter. Kendra came back, welcomed, and exhibited with us, back at the old home community she helped found, for Neufreistadt's Oktoberfest just a few weeks ago. We were delighted to see her again and have her home. All of our love, appreciation, jealousy, quirky feelings and strange angels go out and up, up from their pixels here to wherever you may be, Kendra, diva, and attend thee. Jamie

Seeing someone able to be themselves THAT much, and that witty, and yet that caring at the same time, even if she was telling someone to shut the fuck up, always made me happy. I felt good when I read her posts, knowing that someone was able to be themselves, unreserved, unbridled, and just, well, awesome.

She influenced me like no other person has, ever, on any forum or message board.

I am kicking myself for never telling her this.

How sad it is, aside from the huge emptiness of her leaving us, that all of these accolades are written after she has moved on. I hope she is somehow reading them and mocking each of us in her unique way.

We need to do something, some kind of memorial or remembrance, but I don't know what. Something with an appropriate degree of lunatic hilarity. That will take a while.

This is the part that keeps bouncing around in my head. We should probably think about all the things we would like to tell others ... and just go ahead and tell them. We can't take for granted that they will be around later.

I keep wanting to start, but I'm always afraid of leaving someone out. So then I just make an "all of you" comment and it just doesn't seem like enough.

I was thinking about this too. Maybe IM would be better, (a la Taco's List aversion.)

Maddie, you will be sorely missed - even more than you already were.

MOURNER'S KADDISH

Glorified and sanctified be God's great name throughout the world which He has created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.

May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.

Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.

May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us
and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

He who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

Kendra had, no has given people that read her words or heard her voice so very very much.

Some of us knew her a little, some of us not that well, and a great many people knew her and love her dearly. She touched on lives astonishingly with often no more than a word or two needed.

She always hit home.

To those of you that were her friends and are now mine, and for those of you I have yet to meet, I offer you my sincere condolences. A witty lovely and warm woman has been lost to you, to all of us.

I raise a glass to Kendra. But more so I raise a glass to those that miss her now and will do so always.

Cheers guys. You all rock so much, and if anyone knew that Kendra did.

Along the lines of Aimee's message about holiday music...

I just got home from tonight's gig, the first of seven (gad, yes) holiday concerts. In the mix was backing up a children's chorus singing an arrangement of an old Spike Jones version of "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth". Replete with taxi horns, duck calls, you name it.

At one point the slide whistle glissandos down (as does Santa on the bannister) and a large bunch of metal junk goes crashing to the floor in a loud, cacophonous melee.

I dedicated that crash to Kendra. I know she'd get a kick out of it. I loved her madly tonight, and don't we all?

Returned after hearing about this from other sources as this was one of the last places we both posted.

I first met Maddie back through the old SL forums several years ago. We since struck up friendship in world and rl, something I let slip in both I'm afraid after my own departure from SL about a year ago. I regret that. She made the lives of those she knew a little bit better... she made mine a little bit better.

I'll miss arguing with her and her laughter.

I'll miss her.

I hope you all are well, and echoing what others have said that you take the time to tell those whom you care about that you do.

As many of you know, Maddie was Jewish. Well, Hanukkah starts next Monday and I thought it might be nice if we all did something, together, on that day as a remembrance of her. It doesn't matter whether you are a believer or not, it's simply a way of honoring her and her beliefs. A way of showing that we thought she was special.

My thoughts were that we should all buy a nice white candle and burn it on that day in her memory, but I'm open to suggestions if anyone else has a better idea. Whatever it is, I thought it would be wonderful if we all did it together, on that day.

I'm so getting a pristine white candle and doing so. I know I didn't "know" Maddie like many of you, but ffs she really really was special. She sang a song in her Meowth voice for my son, she touched my family in such a beautiful way.

I grieve.

I grieve more so for all of you though. It's the ones left behind huh?

That chick was more than wonderful. But and I say this crying, if you don't take the piss out of her she'll be bloody disappointed.

Sooz was right. She's up there having a shot with God and betting on what's gonna happen next.

Candles would be nice. At the very least a ....

Happy Maddie.

Just read about this on Massively and I don't know what to say. She was witty, dry, acerbic, funny... strike that, enormously funny. It had been a long time since I'd last said hello to her, unfortunately

I hope she's happy where ever she is now. And making people snigger. She was always very good at that.
