I'm in Arkansas. We just went through 3 days of sideways rain with Gustav (people here were without power for up to two weeks) and now this one is coming straight through as well. This time we're on the dirty side.
My thoughts are with you and your family, MoxZ!

Based on these pictures, I am giving you an 8.4 on the official Trout Recreant Scale of Slutiness. You are a slut, but only in the best possible way, and any man lucky enough to see that side of you should count his blessings.

That nut! I used to fish off of that pier with my family. I lived in Pasadena before moving to Arkansas 20 years ago. My friends and I used to skip school and hitchhike to Galveston, racing to see who got there first.

Just spoke with my mom. So far everything is ok. They're far enough inland and although they're feeling huge winds and lots of rain (per mom, only 2 inches so far) I'm more worried about this huge lake they live on. When Katrina came through it broke parts of the dam.

I hope all of you in Texas are well and protected and your dogs and kittehs are inside.
And your gas tanks are full!

Ike is currently 147 miles to the east of Austin. From looking outside, we have some impressive cloud cover but that is about it. It's 79 degrees outside and very humid.

How are you Dallas folks doing?
Not too bad. It's becoming very, very overcast here, the wind has picked up slightly and there's some heavy rain, but looking out of the window I can see some darker, dense cloud coverage rolling in. Even if we do get heavy rain and storms it's nowhere near what others have seen, which I'm thankful for. Quimby's out buying batteries & supplies for tonight now, just in case.

Hope everyone down south is doing well, and those with family down south have heard from them.

I hope everyone has made it through safe. Things can be replaced, people can't.
