SLShopper Forum Integration

To make the experience of using SLShopper as seamless as possible, I have fully integrated it with the forums. The site now supports both of the SLU templates (Dark and Blue), and uses combined headers and footers so you can easily move between it and the forums. It also now displays forum avatars in the ad listings as well.

It made it stop working in Safari for Mac OS 10 - says you need javascript to run but i have Java script running - still works in Firefox.

Based on user feedback, I am backing off of the integration while I experiment more with the site. I'll try to keep dramatic changes to a minimum

No little giraffes and a sad panda instead. I really liked it and had no problem with it.
I did notice the link back to the forums is missing from the shopper section Cris.

Yeah I liked it too, a lot. I was wondering why it vanished.

Quiet mentioned their browser. Maybe different browsers do funky things with it.

A bit of a bump:

Safari and Konqueror are both confirmed to not work with the new forum changes, due to that "You must have javascript enabled" message. I even changed my User Agent to IE and Firefox to test; it appears to be a functional problem, rather than a simple ident string one.

Since Javascript is admittedly insecure and hackish, it's possible both are flagging on something that's either not implemented or blocked by default.

Having these forums work would make my transition to Konqueror a little less painless, so a fix would be appreciated.

Jeffrey,

Isn't Safari built off of the same code as Konqueror? I had someone test for me on the Mac - it seems the problem is corrected in Safari 3 beta, but doesn't work in 2. I just turned off a feature I think might be the cause, let me know if there is any difference. If not, not much I can do, especially if a newer version of the browser works fine.

I am surprised you didn't know about this:

http://news.com.com/Open-source+divo...3-5703819.html

As far what it was, I had a vbulletin plugin installed to not allow anonymous proxies to help prevent spam. That is what I turned off - it I start getting spammed, it goes back on regardless of the effect it has on Safari, since as I said, version 3 works fine with it. Glad it was something simple at least.

I'll let you know if things get weird with my browser again. Worst case, I'll just use Firefox.

Yet they both suffered the same issue that did not occur with IE/Firefox/Opera, so perhaps their core rendering system was the issue.
