I just don't like how the Meta- prefix sounds on any words. "Vee-eeL" sounds more futuristic or modern sounding to me, so I have to go with VLUniverse.

During this naming saga, I ended up with vluniverse.com, virtuallifeuniverse.com, oluniverse.com, opensimuniverse.com, simulocity.com, metaropolis.com, pixellives.com, xluniverse.com, and metazens.com. Plus more probably but I don't feel like thinking about it. * sigh *
