Hey, they're being a lot more pro-active.

Assume for the moment they are on a major quest to regain the heart and soul of the SL community that they fucked over and back again.

They need to stop talking about 'big changes' and unleash them already though. This is a pretty big change. We are due a few more. I really think that if you want to save anything from the current forums, do it now -- they've shown disregard for legacy content in-world and on the web already because they platform needs to evolve, and I think they see the forums the same way now. If they think they're replacing it with something innovative, they might just nuke them. (Or archive them to static html.)

It would be cool if ads were only allowed on a parcel X size (512 would be a little big, but 16 would be too small). Maybe they also have to use a sign look instead of a prim box. Billboards would be cool at a certain size.

I just hope whatever LL decides to do they make it look nice if it must be there.

What worries me is the "edge cases" part. Linden Lab has a track record of coming down hardest on the edge cases. The worst troublemakers and shysters have nothing to lose, so those with emotional and financial equity in SL, but with the tendency to be clever, or occasionally skirt the rules, are always first on the chopping block.

This really would be better moved to the SL Discussions section. Nobody will see it here.

Somewhat polarised responses from ROBO and Tyrian:

I am immediately targeting to get my hands to a license, and this turns around MAI plans for future completely. As a shareholder please give feedback.

The new plan for Mainostaulu is:

* Keep selling the parcels at high prices for now
* Develop an ultimate advertiser's toolkit, automation all the way around
* After license acquirement, VERY aggressive relaunch
* Raise the advertising prices somewhat to a better profit margin ratio

I'm sure the Mafia was really displeased by RICO laws and other newly passed legislation that cut into their profits or destroyed their business. At some point, however, the greater good is served at the exponse of a few low-life, greedy, scumbuckets like ad farmers. Not that I have any opinions on this issue....

I'm intrigued by Tyrian's response. Either he's wearing the same rose-tinted glasses that help him convince himself he's an ethical business person, and he really believes he stands a chance of winning a license; or he's trying to scare people into believing he's not going anywhere, so they'll buy the overpriced plots he desperately needs to shed.

I wonder if he is pulling out of his deal with Primlands... then again, I believe the majority of his properties will still be unusable for advertising.

ROBO's comments just crack me up. Clearly he must realize he is one of the most hated people in SL. And already openly scheming to find a way to keep spamming...

RE: Robo's comments in Walker's post.

Why is it everytime LL makes some kind of stand the people who are profiting from the effected issue at the time always scream it is "the end of SL economy"?

No, it is the end of the gravy train for their chosen cash cow. Now, if LL closed down private land sales/rentals or content/scripting creation or something of the like then there would be call to yell end of the economy.

Wow, these people sure do get full of themselves.

I imagine it would have something to do with them being unutterably selfish oxygen thieves.
