Internet Explorer on XBOX 360
I got the early preview release of the fall update for the XBOX 360, and it's actually a pretty big update. It refines the Metro interface significantly and gets rid of some of the pain points of the last update, making it much easier to get to content. One of the biggest additions is a full Internet Explorer app.
The browser is very well done on the XBOX, and pages look gorgeous on a big HDTV. The navigation is very intuitive - you can scroll with the right stick and move an onscreen cursor with the left. Pages look vibrant and reproduce as they would in IE 10. I have the chat pad add-on for my controller, so it was easy to type in addresses. I didn't reconnect my Kinect yet to my new XBOX, so I'm not sure how tight that integration is there, but supposedly they added voice search using Bing for the internet, not just searching for content on the console.
It is the first TV-based browser that I actually liked - in the past they have been horribly gimped and did not show pages correctly *cough crappy PS3 browser *. While I would not do full time web browsing on it, it is a nice addition to the platform.

Is there a way to remove the ads or customize the content that the UI displays ?
I use my Xbox primarily as a media center these days. Since they changed to the Metro-style for the Xbox UI, it's a carroussel of 20 pages full of ads for stuff I don't want, with only one or two useful links on each one. The previous UI was less sexy, but it wasn't like wading through a spammed mailbox just to watch a movie or listen to my own music.
