Magnet Homewood

Hi, I am in the process of making my own website, and want to do it for free, at least until I know it's possible to do what I want and make it all work. I have already made a webiste on googlesites and got an FTP server to embed the files I wanted, but to be honest, all of this is way above my head. For some reason the FTP site does not work now, and I am not sure why. I assume it is becausde I have exceeded the data transfer limit, but it is so hard to find any information there, I want to try another server.

Does anyone know of a free FTP server provider with a relatively high data transfer limit, that is 'user-friendly' in that it makes the setup and info about it easily available to a newbie like me?

(What I need to do is host 7mb files and stream them to the website, and these kinds of files dont seem to be available to be embedded into the free websites I have looked at, they are .mov files but not movies. If I embed as a movie, they dont work the way they should.)
